Dutch and Dominicana are scoreless after 9.

Who the heck are these Dutch pitchers?

I know that it is trendy to blame the pitchers, especially the guys that aren't there, but it isn't like the hitting was much better.

4 legit major leaguers, 2 bench players (and weak bench players at that) and a few schlubs are going to have a tough time doing anything at this tournament.

With guys like Morneau and Martin having big years and the hype around the pitching I actually thought Canada had some baseball talent, but seeing the team (including guys that could have been there) that Canada has I was shocked to see how little talent there really is out there.

The good thing is that this tournament really means nothing so even doing well in doesn't necessarily mean much.

Amazing stuff.

The Dutch RF made a huge error in the top of the 11th to gift DR a run.
Same guy has now driven in the tying run in the bottom of the 11th.

Man on THIRD with one out for the Dutch now.

If it remains tied after 12 innings, it's goes to penalties

Unbelieveable! The Dominicans are out!

Netherlands get TWO in the bottom of the 11th to win 2-1 helped by TWO DR errors.

Australia blew it and lost 5-4. They get a 2nd chance against Mexico tonight.

And here's the story and highlights of Holland's amazing win

I think it sucks though, there are no crossover in the second round. For ex: Japan and Korea will have to play each other again, after having played two games against each other in the first round.

Yeah it sucks but it does cut down on travel. They will crossover in the semifinals. Theoretically Japan and Korea could play 5 times.

Canada with all those stars losing to Italy was appauling. It would be great to see Mexico with little stars take out the mighty USA at their own game.

Is anyone on this site outside of me rooting for the USA?

My schedule isn't the best so I haven't been able to catch all the games. Got to see them beat Canada, so that was an expected pleasure

Japan defeated the US 9-4 in the second semi-final, setting up an all Asian final against Korea tonight. This will be the 7th time that the two teams have played in the two events, and the 5th time in this year's tournament alone.

I really, really want the WBC to work. But, does anyone care about this?

Japan wins tonight in a really entertaining game. At least I think it was entertaining. I half watched it - in mute.
