"We kind of raided the toothless, green, watermelon-helmet-wearing people from the crotch of Canada," Kelly said, according to the Winnipeg Free Press.

In other news, Allan Watt must be from Saskatchewan. What a bunch of crybabies.

LOL no offense to Peggers but . . . I always laugh at Winnipeg when it comes to Banjo Bowl trash talk. In this instance the people from the armpit of Canada are accusing the people from the crotch of Canada of being hariy, sweaty, stinky and generally unpleasant to look at. LOL

For some reason I thought Rambo was a QB in college too. Either way, the weapons are at Huff's disposal.

Brutal! Looks like Teyo Johnson is about to retire.
Plug QB Proctor announced his retirement today too.

Good luck to both of them, Teyo was a nice addition last year but I think we'll be fine. If we really want a player like him, than grab a true TE from down south, only thing is he will be an import. Time for Jabari to shine.
As for Proctor, oh well, We'll see Sankey or another guy brought in.

Jabari Arthur will fit right in I think.
I don't think Proctor is a loss at all - plenty of young project No. 3s you can bring in.

Damn, I was really hoping that at some point we'd see the team draw up a third down play where Proctor lines up as a wide receiver, takes a hand-off from the QB, and then hurls it downfield to an open receiver. It would be called, obviously, the Proctor end gamble.

Anyone see this Brunt article today: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sport...rticle1183315/
Quote:
"David Cynamon and Howard Sokolowski obviously liked the idea of owning the Argonauts, including the public profile that would come with saving a historic local franchise. What they didn’t much like was the fact that there was no way to turn the club into a profit-making concern.
...
In stepped Braley with a solution – one that he could certainly afford, but one that would be controversial in most leagues. He offered Cynamon and Sokolowski some financial assistance – and no one would have to know. "
Reaction: http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=281989
Quote:
"
Sokolowski denied that Braley was in fact a part owner of the team.
"Absolutely not, David Cynamon and myself are the owners," Sokolowski told the Globe. "There are no formal financial records whatsoever in terms of him being an owner."
When confronted with the report, Braley also denied that he was a co-owner of the team.
"I don't have any ownership interest at all with the Toronto Argonauts and I never have. … There is no paperwork and there's nothing to be able to prove that," Braley told the Globe. "

I honestly dont have a problem with. It looks bad and has the potential for corruption but honestly, the CFL needs a team in OT, the Lions owner knows it and thus the help.

A bit late on the reply here but Copeland was the backup to Peyton Manning at Tennesse.

I don't like the optics of the Argos thing, and in particular I don't like everyone saying "there's nothing on paper to prove it," as though the only reason they can get away from it is because of some fancy legal paperwork. But I think Cohen hit the nail on the head: if there's a failing here, it's the lack of transparency. I don't even need that sort of information to be released to the public, I'd just like to know that the league knows what's going on in these cases.

I went to MacMahon to buy tickets for my dad for Father's Day, for a game later in July. They told me they couldn't do that - they are still selling season tickets, and can't sell single game tickets after the July 1st game. I told them that was really strange.

troutman, I assume you're looking for the Fri. July 17 game vs. the Argos?
We have 6 season tickets, and I'm sure I could help you out if the box office doesn't want to.
PM me.

Yikes. Whatever the case may be, losing Armour in the middle is a big loss. He was definitely the emotional leader of that defense. Big hole to fill now.

What kind of action could Armour do in practice that would get him cut? A fight maybe? Seems like a petty thing to cut one of your best defensive players over.
