Not enough terriers making the list. Smart, headstrong, tenacious, and lay-down-their-life loyal. A terrier would never ask for directions if it got lost, so that right there makes it manly.

My vote goes for the Airedale, which is a great looking dog, decent size, and pound for pound one of the strongest breeds going

My sister has a Blue Austrailian Cattle Dog. Easliy the most tireless, disciplined dog I've known. I've never seen her stop playing fetch, including running up and down a huge tobogganing hill to retreive.
