I don't get the whole rain smell thing, I find the smell of rain, or rather the smell that rain imparts on things, repulsive. Maybe I just smell it too much.
Favourite smells..hmmm...
A good (professional) baseball glove.
Hockey pucks.
Fresh cedar.
The air on a windy day by the ocean.
Fresh tar.
Subway (food not transport).
Scent of a female...not so much. Not that I don't like it, more that I just don't care.

I USE to love the smell coming off the end of a cigarette. It smelled different 20-30 years ago then it does now, but I remember that certain smell and loved it.

So, I just got in from shovelling snow, and someone in the neighborhood was bbq'n a steak. It smelled good. Think I'll have to do that tomorrow or Saturday.

My favourite smell is my own arm pits. I like to sniff them while I stand in front of the mirror without a shirt on and flexing my muscles.
Seriously, I like vanilla and banana scents. The smell of coconutty sunscreen is a favourite also.

There's nothing like the smell of a Coleman lantern or campstove. No, not propane, the units that burn naptha - white gas.

Coffee and coconut, neither of which I like the taste of, which is somewhat odd.
I also love the smell of pine trees - and I suspect I wouldn't enjoy chowing down on one of those, either.
Lastly, my cat smells like a well-cured bag of dope, so I'm pretty sure he's lighting up fatties all day while I'm away.

Not sure if its been said but:
There is a type of hand-soap in public washrooms. I can't describe what the smell is, but its awesome. And it's always a treat when you get it, and you always say "Damn, this is my favorite smelling hand soap"
Then you continue on with your day.
Unfortunately, most people I see in public washrooms never get the chance to enjoy this moment. They just shake off and mozy on out the door.
