Value investing, huh? You don’t ask for much. I could do a day-long seminar on that topic. Get this book and read it. He’s the father of value investing. Also, go to Berkshire Hathaway’s website and read Buffett’s annual report, particularly his annual message. If you ever get a change to go to the Berkshire AGM in Omaha, it’s a worthwhile event. I’ve gone twice now.

Yes, there are insider trading reports. Google the words insider trading reports Canada and several will come up. BTW, insider trading is not illegal, contrary to popular opinion. Insider trading is legal but must be disclosed and done when full information is available to the general public.

Sorry, I’m unable to comment on a stock, particularly on a website. Do the same due diligence you did when you bought and if it's still a good company at good value, but more. Lots more.

Funny how the markets were able to climb back up to to the positive with a late surge today. I suspect it was an eventual reaction to the positive asian markets from last night. I was predicting a net loss for today. Also I hope the interest rates get throttled back a little in the next few weeks. And I predict a loss for tomorrow, maybe down 1-2%.

MoneyGuy has some good advice.

I thought these comments from David Wolf, economist at Merrill Lynch, were interesting:

"Bull markets tend to be slow and steady," Mr. Wolf said. "Bear markets tend to be faster and choppier. Big daily bounces tend to be one of the best indicators that we're in the latter.""

Can't ignore the fundamentals, but things may be a little nuts in the near term...

My other thought was that BCE is still a decent stock... even if the deal fails the stock will still exist and while expecting it to trade at $34-35 dollars if the deal fails is probably unrealistic I won't lose everything... in the stock market we have been seeing these days I figure its a pretty good bet in the whole loss vs potential gain category.
Management issued a statement today. I had forgot about the mess around the bondholders.

Hah, I'm guessing there is a middle-man (er, woman) in the equation somewhere. My wife believes in diversification also - buy from many different stores.
