HA! You've never been on an aircraft when the autopilot failed and you suddenly drop 500ft! It's definitely not pleasant.

ya i should clarify we did drop...but nothing major..we were over the pacific too

I heard on 660 this morning they estimate the plane dropped 4000 - 5000 ft in 15 seconds. That is quite a drop.

alot of news agency were looking at that page
basically a 15 minute period where the plane flucuates from FL37 to FL31..not sure how accurate that is...

Did anyone get anything from the pilots of the flight?
They were at FL37 and less than a minute later at FL31, then back up to FL37 less than a minute later... I dunno... seems kinda sketchy.
