The lineup is pretty weak...who hasn't seen the Hip yet in Canada? They are/were a great band but are kind of past it to be headlining a "huge" festival. STP were decent back in the day, but now? Flaming Lips put on a good show I hear. The Constantines are actually pretty good lesser known band. But all around, this is a pretty disappointing lineup.

But look at Calgary radio, and this is exactly the type of stuff played.

You may say, "Well, Calgary radio sucks", but I'm sure if there was an audience for the music you want then there would be a station for it. When Fuel-FM started, they played Modest Mouse, Snow Patrol, Arcade Fire, etc; and where were their ratings? In the toilet. They changed to "Classic Alternative", closer to CJay, a very successful station.

They play what they do because that is what gets the ratings; that is what the largest portion of the public seem to want to hear; and that is exactly who the promoters need to get to buy tickets if they want to make money off this event.
