Speaking of the Bruins, they had 68 shots tonight in Portland and LOST!

That's what I was afraid would happen to Calgary either last night or tonight.

32 shots in the third. I don't have my WHL Guide handy, but I have to imagine that is close to a record for shots in a period.

Nope, not likely a record. Brandon had 85 shots in one game in 1979, and almost certainly more than 32 in one period.

Speaking of shots, I love Junior B some times...

Airdire beat Maswaskis (Hobbema) 15-1 not to long ago, outshooting them 95-44. 40 shots in the third period alone.

A guy on my summer team played in that league a couple years ago!

Update from the Hitmen: Teddy bear toss sales have topped 18,800. Less than 400 tickets remaining for the game.

Portland can kiss that attendance record goodbye!

Hitmen lose to Spokane in OT tonight I see, but lots of goals all 'round the WHL.

I slept through most of the Kelowna/Kamloops game, which ended 7-4 Rockets, Kootenay beat Swift Current 7-5 , and Lethbridge put 8 past the Blades!

Get to watch Irving in person tomorrow, he got the night off tonight as Seattle beat Everett 2-1. The teams combined for only 30 shots!

Also, those of you who are interested in the 2 Kelowna blueliners (Schenn and Myers) who are slated to be high picks in the '08 Draft, Kelowna is on Shaw again tomorrow night (8:00 MT) against Portland.

Tough loss for the Hitmen as Spokane's only goal in regulation was a fluke bounce off of Spence, off another Hitmen, off Schaber and in.

Then again, the Chiefs also had a player hit the crossbar and post on a shot 3 feet from the goal line on an open net.

Still, getting a point out of the best team in the league isn't bad.

Mark is really starting to run away with the scoring race in the DUB with 6 points in his last 2 games and 51 overall. Rough game tonight in Kamloops - lots of penalties as the Blazers really lost their cool. As a result, Mark didn't see much ice in the third...
Santorelli's a beaut.. but sounds like the boys had a rough night at the RecPlex, but all the ADT series does for me personally is long for the old days of a WHL All-Star Game, East vs. West.

Speaking of rough games, Giants smoked Everett 7-0 tonight at the Coliseum. Couple of fights, Kyle Beach got benched in the 3rd, and Dane Crowley (EVT defenseman) cold-cocked Michal Repik with a flying elbow behind the net, Repik was out cold before he hit the ground.

Irving: 2 GA on 10 shots, looked REALLY shaky, didn't make it to the ten-minute mark despite having the night off last night.

EDIT: Also just noticed the Giants' teddy-bear toss is for the Chilliwack game on the 15th.. don't worry Resolute the Coliseum only seats 16,150

They were, a 100/200 level sellout. They opened the West bleeders at the last moment, which I had assumed was already open.

It was disgusting.. If you're familiar with the Coliseum it was behind the net in front of Secs. Z and A..

My seasons are in W so I had a good view.. Repik was out before he hit the ice. I have never seen anybody motionless in person like that for as long as he was. The rink was so quiet too.

It all started late in the 2nd when Repik nailed Kyle Beach with a gorgeous hip check. Blatant interference, but Beach deserved it for all the elbows he was throwing at people throughout the game.

After the elbow by Crowley, Beach did not see the ice.

Probably too early to say right now, but do you think he'll go to Milwaukee next year or will he come back to the Bruins?

I was a little pissed by this, they completely overhyped sales numbers and it was obvious. Maybe 17,000 sold, but no where near that in attendance.
