Interesting...but wouldn't my Dell install CD have the same garbage on it? It didn't come with a normal Windows install CD, it came with Dell's version of Windows XP.

So did mine.. That isn't what has the Dell crap on it, there's usually a driver and software CD that is also with it, and outside of the required drivers, THAT is where the crap comes from.

You can score some pretty wicked deals on monitors these days. I'd imagine you could find a good one for ~ $200 bucks.

With $1500-$2000, you could build a rig that would put most VooDoo machines to shame, and those babies usually run the the high $3000's.

Edit:
Just did a running total on Newegg.com, and for a 5.6 gig dual core, 4 gigs memory, 256 video card, 120 gig HD and ample space for upgrades (and I mean ample. Motherboards are never anything you want to go cheap on,) including all the fixings like wireless keyboard and mouse, 20 inch" plasma screen and speakers, came to a grand total of $1119.88 USD, which would be roughly $1181.25 CAD. That doesn't include the cost of OS though, but if you're not going Vista, It probably wouldn't be any more then $120 bucks, I'm guessing (if you can find a good deal on eBay or are going to use a OS like Ubuntu or Linux - which are both free I think.)

That actually kind of makes me wish I had an extra $1200 bucks kicking around.

NewEgg.com won't ship to Canada

Yeah, I was more or less just using it as a site of reference, because I hate Memory Express's website; who are actually about the same in price as NewEgg, if not a bit cheaper, oddly enough.

www.ncix.com is about as close as you're going to get to a newegg in canada. some of their stuff is cheaper than mem exp. especially their weekly specials. i always check their specials cause they have some really good deals sometimes.
