Congrats to Skinner and family. He will get to have a taste of true leadership with Crosby instead of a petulant child whiner in McCrybaby.
Watch him absolutely thrive there although that team is not very good.
I hope Jarry gets lit up his first couple games.
Surprisingly, the Pens are currently 11th in points percentage and 10th in goals against (the Oilers are 27th with Skinner being in net for most). It looks like they will be taking a step back in the coming years, but somehow that are doing not bad this season.
If Skinner is a half-decent goalie, he should have a chance to prove in at least for this season.

A reminder that the Oilers just gave a 2nd round pick and a goalie with similar stats that is younger, for a goalie who cleared waivers and sent to the AHL last year
I was wondering why they rushed to get this done today, then I looked at their schedule: In Toronto for the main HNIC game tomorrow night. Gotta make that big splash on national tv.
Ron MacLean might not have talked about them otherwise.

Couldn't they have acquired a better goalie than Jarry for Kulak and a 2nd round pick?
Im probably delusional but I hope the league still hates Bowman and is making trades with him incredibly difficult only if he either sells high for players or gets underwhelming offers like this.
The bottom line for the Oilers here is that Skinner had to go - sometimes things just get to the point where you HAVE to make a change. And that point had come with Skinner.
And that leaves them trading from a position of weakness and desperation, which is obviously going to affect the return.
As someone said: Skinner + Kulak for Jarry + Stastney is not horrible, maybe a small downgrade, depending on what Jarry does of course.
Adding a 2nd and a 3rd to get that done, and not getting any cap relief out of it either, makes it a loss. Which is to be expected when trading from a position of weakness.
The Oilers have been looking to improve their goaltending for about 3 years - this is the trade they managed. LOL
