All have good shots at being core pieces moving forward. Not every one is gonna hit but that’s a lot of darts

Good depth sure, but Parekh is the only one who would be considered with elite potential.
The rest are decent prospects, but singularly none have a good chance of becoming a core piece. By good chance, I mean 60% or more. Of course, I also consider a core piece as someone who is in your top 4 forwards, top 3 dmen or goalie. But in the aggregate you likely have 2 core pieces there.
That’s simply the failure rate of prospects.

Of the 12 listed (Reschny, Potter, Gridin, Basha, Battaglia, Misa, Wyttenbach, Suniev, Parekh, Mews, Brz, Morin) you'll probably get 4-6 effective every day nhlers, if i were to guess.
It's a good crop to start with.
1-2 will become "core" level players, as that's just the batting rate for those players - Gridin, Reschny and Parekh are most likely.
I do think a top 6 forward may come out of someone unexpected. A Coronato comparable if you will.
Mews and Brz look like they have top 4 upside, but definitely 6/7s at least.

Way too early to start fading McKenna. He's played six games in college hockey and is a pretty slender guy still at this point, so he needs to adjust to playing against teams that are filled with guys 30-60 pounds heavier than him. If he's not creating the 1.3-2ppg magic by Christmas, alright, but give him a little time.
Celebrini had about 20-30 pounds on McKenna, as did Eichel and Fantilli. They'd have an easier time with the transition to play against men, but it doesn't mean he won't do what they do in the NHL when he's NHL sized.
This may present an interesting future decision point for skinnier top draft prospects sticking in the CHL during their draft year to avoid the knock of reduced production playing against college players.

Gav took about a half a season to adjust to the WHL in his first full year there, and then he put up 2 points per game for the rest of that season and then 2.3 points per game in his second full season.
Kind of funny seeing people and their "models" already questioning him after 6 games in the NCAA.
We'll see what's what by seasons end.

Of course we’ll see, but people and their models are just pointing out what’s happened so far, as they always do.
And both his early NCAA tenure and WHL tenure would indicate that McKenna may not be NHL ready right out of the draft as he again faces another increase in talent and size of his competition.

Man I think it's a major jinx to be getting at all focused on McKenna with how low the odds are, even if the flames are the worst team in the league. Just sets us up for massive disappointment.
Not to tell anybody else how to enjoy the daydream but personally am watching all of Lawrence, Stenberg, Roobroeck, Belchetz and Verhoeff and will just be happy to add one of any of them as the new core piece, feels like its early but that group are a bit clear and Lin and Bjorck in the next tier, I'm just hoping the flames pick is top 5. Obviously will shift as the year goes on, seems like Roobroeck is not performing as well as last year but I think the flames will get a new potential franchise player if they draft top 5 and I'll be happy with that no matter who it is.

What orifice did you pull that 60% figure, and the corresponding player rankings? Haha
Gridin could easily be a core piece based on what he's shown so far. Or not. You may be right, but it's just guess work and any stats class I've ever taken Prof wants to see my work.
I'm going to need to see your work before I give any credence to your odds.

He's likely right. Most of the prospects will likely either fizzle out or not amount to core pieces. There are a few with potential but it could also be none. Gridin and Parkeh are far from guarantees.

Lawrence and Verhoeff are my personal favorites but the top ten is stacked.
