Nov.6th:

Matveiko gets no points in 11:28 TOI of a 3-1 loss to Avto Yekaterinburg. He is tied for 13th in MHL scoring (and 8th in plus/minus), with 29gp/13g/15a/28pts,+18, 8 PIM. Wonder if he left the game with an injury...

🩹 Cut Injury – Will Miss World Junior Championship 2025

On October 8, during a J20 game against AIK, Stockselius was injured when an opponent’s skate cut the back of his thigh. This happened just four days after his SHL debut with Djurgården on October 4 against Malmö, where he played about seven minutes on the fourth line.
The injury is described as a “nasty cut” and has forced him to withdraw from the junior national team’s warm-up games in Slovakia.

Prognosis & Rehabilitation

According to Djurgården’s sports director Niklas Wikegård, Stockselius’ condition is improving gradually through rehab training. However, it is considered very unlikely that he will recover in time for the World Juniors.
There is a possibility he could be ready for SHL play when the league resumes after the international break around December 18.

Wikegård’s Comments

Wikegård calls the injury “unusual and unlucky” – a skate hit precisely on the back of the thigh. Despite that, he says Theo “is moving forward.”
Regarding the World Juniors, he said: “He suffered a nasty injury and had to decline the junior national team. He’s rehabbing and slowly getting better, but he’s unlikely to be selected since he’s not playing.”

Summary:

The injury is a skate cut on the back of the thigh from a J20 game.
Theo will likely miss the 2025 World Juniors and is focusing on rehab.
Expected SHL return after the December break, depending on rehab progress.

I'm guessing that he needed to go on blood thinners, like you often see with these injuries. That requires an extended period away from sharp objects.

SHL return meaning he will play in the top Swedish league when he does return or is SHL an umbrella term?

Ray Edwards, on with Pat, says Stonk is 10-21 days away from game action.

Ray Edwards was super complimentary of Hurtig. I wasn't sure if Hurtig was going to get an ELC after this season, but they love his commitment, ability to break plays with his stick, and his leadership. Ray mentioned he needs to play with more pace but they seem to be high on him.
