I watched some videos that people took from the arena last night on social media, and it's crazy how much SportsNet mutes the crowd. The place was deafening.
I noticed something strange with the crowd noise during the US anthem, during the last few seconds it seemed like the crowd suddenly started booing. Like Sportsnet blended back to actual crowd audio a bit early.
Anyone who was there, was the US anthem booed the entire time?

Remember too though, that videos are taken from within the crowd, so the crowd noise is all the phone is picking up. Not saying it wasn't loud (it was), but the TV cameras are positioned in different places, away from the crowd.
Having said all that, I have said for years that I think Sportsnet has the crowd noise turned down lower in the Saddledome than other arenas. You can barely hear the crowd in Flame broadcasts, even when they are being loud.

Great comeback by the boys, now to keep it going for the length of a series. The arena's in Winnipeg are insanely loud, I remember the last few games before the original team left against Detroit. It was chaos! To be fair not much else in Winnipeg to get excited about so there is a lot of pent up energy.

I was at the second last one in 96- amazing atmosphere for sure but a 6-1 loss. couldn't justify the ticket price to go back for game 6

The old building was a concrete box - easily the loudest building I have ever been in. I was there in 96 as well - I remember yelling something as loudly as I could to my buddy beside me, and he just mouthed "what?"

I loved going to that building as a kid. It all felt larger than life. It wasn't just a concrete box all the seats were like right on top of each other, super steep 2nd deck.
Fun fact, the second deck was added in the '70s or '80s for the team to make the NHL flip. They literally just added it. An insane operation

From last night:
It was super steep. And IIRC, someone fell from it, so they added glass at the end of the stairways
