They aren't trading for an Andersson replacement in Carlo in the same dimension where you go ahead and deal Kadri and Coleman at the same time.

Rasmus out and Carlo in where the end result is a net positive in futures then I'm on board with it.

There are in house options that aren't 28/29 going against exactly what Conroy has said he isn't interested in doing.

The only stratosphere where this makes sense is if Hanley and Miromanov are moved at the deadline or Andersson is on his way to Boston and Carlo is part of the deal. If you need someone else to come in and eat minutes.....even then I would say why not just bring up Poirier, Grushnikov, or Brustewicz?

If the direction is to make the playoffs or to make a push

In my view, none of the above are what the team requires in the short term.

Flames I would think, are looking for a defense pairing for Weegar,

Then push Hanley to 5th/6th etc...

Obviously not a rental.

This is probably the only way it makes sense...I still don't think any of it is very likely though

Not sure Carlo fits the bill with Weegar. His possession metrics are very poor, but he does get a heavy portion of dzone starts, while Weegar is almost even.

Carlos possession numbers look like Hamonic before he got traded to us.

What the ####, dude. I don't really get involved in all the pissing matches here because this isn't a real place, but what in the world. You're just messing with people now.

Hahahahaha 32/32 GM’s would consider all three of them as legit NHL dmen. You have had some awful takes but this one takes the cake and it’s not even close.

Wait...maybe it was sarcasm from a usually negative person.

Yep, no idea which dman would fit the description,

Only the media types have stated, they would not be surprised if the Flames acquired a dman

In his last 52 games, Andersson has 11 points and is a -26.

FWIW.

It was a sarcastic post. The poster said we need legit NHL dman if we trade Andersson.

Where is the rental talk coming from exactly? Conroy has stated countless times there will be no rental situation given the need to keep getting younger and look long term. It's not changing now with the team clinging to the final wildcard and still unable to score enough.

Adding a stay at home D like Carlo alone isn't going to help this team get in this year when the biggest issue is going to remain scoring goals. If Andersson and player/pick/prospect are going to Boston for something like Poitras and Carlo then I'm starting to get onboard and see the logic at the team digging around.

Not sure, where you read "rental"?

If the Flames are interested in Carlo, he has 2 more years after this season

However, I would guess the Flames will acquire a dman at the trade deadline, no idea who

Conory himself said he looking at a left shot dman.

We gave Solo a shot, he didn't look bad. Maybe rotate in a few other guys from the farm and see how they look.

This likely has nothing to do with a potential Andersson trade. It's Conroys normal MO. Target a player with term that can help now and is young enough to help in the future. The Flames were a mess when they lost Bahl because they have very little depth at D.

Guessing Solo will be sent down, right after the road trip

Yep, I recall the interview with Conroy.

Our system has so many dmen, and every trade we made last year we targeted a specific dman to bring in. WE drafted 1 guy with star potential who should play next year, and another that is showing great progress that he could be something.

Obviously, we won't bring them all up at once, but it would be nice to see which other one we can graduate to the team if Andersson is moved. That is assuming Parekh is on the main roster next season. Grushnikov is the one I am most interested in seeing.
