Well, if I had to pick a team for the oilers to embarrass, the rangers would be up there on my list at least.

Listening to this panel, you would never guess that there were any other games played today. They just spend the whole time polishing the Oilers knobs. Not like a Sidney Crosby scored his 600th goal tonight or anything.

Funny thing is they made up 0 ground on the teams around them too. Everyone else won so they’re in the exact same spot as before. Contenders!!!

I just shook my head before the game when MacLean said "There were three afternoon games today. Let's talk about Darnell Nurse".

Kulak seems like way too good a kid to be in EDM.

What's up with Oilers getting all the back ups again...same thing happened after the slow start last year and then all of a sudden the Oilers got a steady diet of backups.

Sadly it wouldn’t have mattered who was in net for the Rangers. They were beyond pathetic tonight. Just a garbage effort from the entire lineup.

It’s in the memo issued by the league to the officials and the rest of the teams in the league entitled “RE: GET THEM IN…….”

California Dreaming for the Sabres as they won their 3rd game in a row to sweep the California road trip. They beat the Sharks 4-2 with James Reimer in net as he went against his former team. The last time the Sabres did this was 12 years ago. The PK for the Sabres was perfect at 5/5. They were shorthanded 3 times in the 3rd period including 19 seconds of a two-man disadvantage.Tuch scored a SHG.

The last place Predators shot down the Jets 4-1. Great PK by the Preds at 3/3. Comrie was in net for the Jets and played well in the loss, he made 32 saves.

A win is a win in an 82 game regular season any night whatever the oot scoreboard says. But it’s clear the Oilers are outside looking in right now. The Canucks are going to catch up while Edm has this week off, and the games in hand even out. But I’m not too worried yet as an oilers fan. I figured they would start slow, and if you asked me if I’d be happy only 4-6 points out of the division at this point. You take in the factors of a pp and pk not up to par, Skinner’s slow start, (he will be better), mcDavid’s slow start, and injury, I think you have a pretty solid group of veterans that are focused not on making the playoffs but getting that cup. Not to mention their 5 on 5 stats are in the upper 20% of the league, a stat that used to matter around here, apparently not so much this year. They’ve been through a lot these last few seasons and that’s valuable experience not to panic at any point. Ok maybe panic in the third period of game 7 of the finals but everything else they kept their composure. This start is not much different. My useless opinion says they’ll be contending for the Pacific before it’s all said and done. And I might be bold enough to say they win the pacific semi-easily. I’m certain everyone on here is in full agreement with that.
