A win is a win in an 82 game regular season any night whatever the oot scoreboard says. But it’s clear the Oilers are outside looking in right now. The Canucks are going to catch up while Edm has this week off, and the games in hand even out. But I’m not too worried yet as an oilers fan. I figured they would start slow, and if you asked me if I’d be happy only 4-6 points out of the division at this point. You take in the factors of a pp and pk not up to par, Skinner’s slow start, (he will be better), mcDavid’s slow start, and injury, I think you have a pretty solid group of veterans that are focused not on making the playoffs but getting that cup. Not to mention their 5 on 5 stats are in the upper 20% of the league, a stat that used to matter around here, apparently not so much this year. They’ve been through a lot these last few seasons and that’s valuable experience not to panic at any point. Ok maybe panic in the third period of game 7 of the finals but everything else they kept their composure. This start is not much different. My useless opinion says they’ll be contending for the Pacific before it’s all said and done. And I might be bold enough to say they win the pacific semi-easily. I’m certain everyone on here is in full agreement with that.
