It was a brief conversation point at the time if I recall, I think Sutter was asked in the media but said that was too much pressure on a 19 year old. It's an interesting argument either way. Phaneuf did peak early in his career

I recall Warrener saying he thought Dion should sign, but he was not prepared to do so, and yes, he would have helped significantly, but it was Dion not signing, not Darryl not signing him...

Bahl sounds like a perfect Sutter player - the monotone, the excitement he shows, the catchphrase - too bad he comes here a few years too late. But I guess it is what it is....

It does look odd but there’s no way Pelletier is going to be ahead of zary

I like that Huska is sending a message to Zary though. He knows Zary can be better and these gentle reminders will help hopefully.

Is this the most fun lineup for fans? I recognize Lomberg will be in the lineup. But these lines would be fun because of the youth and skill. It’ll never happen, but these lines would be given even ice times, with the Backlund line receiving very heavy defensive zone starts.
Honzek - Kadri - Kuzmenko
Huberdeau - Zary - Mantha
Pelletier - Backlund - Coleman
Sharangovich - Pospisil - Coronato
Also, I think Zary and Wolf have both performed well in the per-season, and I think there’s some other reason for them being in Group B.

Or just have less reg season games. But I know the owners wouldn’t go for that

I don't think there's anything more to it than Group A was the group they were planning on playing in tonight's game, and Group B is everyone else.
If you look at the scheduled lineup for tonight's game and compare it to yesterday's Group A, the only differences are: Zary in for Kadri, Frk in for Kuzmenko, Coronato in after not practicing yesterday, and on D, Kuznetzov in for Bahl.
Kadri got hurt in practice yesterday, so Zary is drawing in to replace him. They probably want to give Bahl a couple more days of practice before throwing him into a game. I haven't heard anything about Kuzmenko, but it looks like Kadri and Kuzmenko were lining up together and Zary and Frk were as well, so they just might want to keep those pairs together for a game.

How many cuts do we think there will be tomorrow? It’d be nice if they went as far as 15 skaters & 2 goalies.

Isn’t their rules that a player needs to be signed by the trade deadline to be playoff eligible? Or else any team could just continue to sign players and play them during the playoffs with injuries. I’m sure no one thought we would have made it to the finals and been so depleted that we would need extra d men, and I feel like because of that we’ve spent so much draft capital at the trade deadline on useless depth d rentals going into the playoffs

Prospects that finish their seasons are different. Jarome Iginla debuted in the '96 playoffs after signing his ELC
