Ah. I'll crap on people when they screw up, but credit where it's due, thats exactly what he should have done.

He could have hidden, he could have ignored it, but for his company and his business he couldnt have played that more perfectly.

Dude isn't making the decision on his own. Big companies pay for disaster rehabilitation after incidents like this. This was clearly seen as a marketing win. I'm not sure this needs praise. In fact, it deserves mocking cynicism.
