Adam Benak had a record breaking tournament, and a bit out of no where.
Very much on the small side (5’7 - 157) hopefully he can grow quite a bit here but his skill was next level and stood out amongst some of the highly touted prospects.

Another name to keep an eye on now!

No issue picking Benak if he’s the BPA. We’ve once had a short game breaking player before and it turned out fine

Nope! They're going remote even though the Sphere was probably the coolest draft experience ever. smh

Johnny would have probably stayed the summer before his UFA season if 8.5 million was on the table. It was not, Flames let him go to UFA and the rest is history.

All that means is teams wont have dozens of staff at whatever location holds the draft. The NFL does it and the draft is always a huge spectacle. The NHL will be no different but there's zero point in having dozens of team staff on site, it accomplishes nothing.

Exactly, they're going the NFL route. A big event for the fans with probably the top 32 or so expected picks in attendance and Bettman makes all the announcements.

Is there a sense of how good Hagens is compared to other recent top draft picks? Is he considered better/worse/equivalent to Cellebrini for example?

I'd say he's very similar to Jack Hughes. Undersized but extremely skilled. I think I would take Celebrini over him personally

Hagens if he keep developing at his current pace will exceed the quality of Celebrini and make the 25 draft real interesting leading the crop of centers coming in.

Well it will be very easy to compare. Hagens is set to play for Boston College. Celebrini played for Boston University.

Hey- I don't mind taking a superstar from Boston College.

Post Hlinka talk seems to have Misa slipping down to the 10-15 range.

It would be a total dream draft if we could leave with 2 of Portone, Misa, and McQueen.

I'm all about Anton Frondell. Really like what I've been watching out of his highlights. He's like a smaller version of Leon.

That would be incredible. Like franchise changing incredible.

I also love Matt Schaefer. A Schaefer-Parekh pairing for 15 years would be absolutely amazing. That guys a future STUD #1 all situations d man. Would most likely wear the C for a long time too

Schafer was the best D man at the Hlinka by far.

He looked poised beyond his years. I was so impressed with his play

Ryabkin seems to be this years Michkov / Demidov, except he’s a Center. Perfect!

For now. It's Russia, so there's an extremely high probability they'll move him to the wing (just like they did Demidov).
