I appreciated the info while it lasted so thanks Sec for that.

I can live with posters who always want to look at things negatively but it sure does piss me off when their antics results in us fans losing a glimpse on the inside. Sec has no obligation to share the info and the vast majority of us greatly appreciated it so a big SCREW YOU to all the negative punks that couldn’t keep their mouths shut and scrolled by and instead had to ensure they ruined it for the rest of us by being dinks to people trying to share info we all wish we had
Don't hunt users, just leave it alone. This is my choice.

I appreciate those that appreciated what I contributed. I'll still GIF but I wont be providing context to my gifs or sharing anything of value for the time being...

Not really. If you were signing a 35-year-old for that season only, obviously you wouldn't offer him that kind of money.

But adding the 8th year allows you to offer the player more total money (which is important to guys just hitting UFA for the first time) while slightly lowering his cap hit (which is important to teams at all times).

If a player would sign for $9m for 7 years, he's very likely to accept $8m for 8 years. It's only an extra million for his 35-year-old season, but he has no guarantee that he'll still be able to play at that age. The team shaves a full million off his cap hit, which makes him easier to trade if necessary, and may be necessary to make an offer of that size in the first place.

Toxicity between users. Its best to be left alone.

Well we may not get any more updates from Sec for a while, but at least we still have the garbage posters posting more garbage and toxicity for us, because it's only the internet, and that's what we want from it.

Weekes is a mouthpiece for a few agents looking to get a ball rolling, there's probably not a GM or front office person that would answer a call from him.

That would be a great return.

If it involves Merkulov, whoever that is, I’m also loving the emphasis Conroy is making to acquire Russians.

Nobody wants to go fight in Ukraine. That country produces too many elite players for Kuzmenko to be our first Russian born forward since Saprykin.

This and the Florida “smoke” makes me think that a Hanifin deal is getting close. Teams are starting to get serious. Multiple teams could be serious contenders at the same time.

Is that what he feels is the worth, or what he is hearing that it’s close?

Close as in close in value, in his opinion, right?

Not close as in close to being done.

When/where did he say that? Seems like a fairly solid return

There was some Twitter action late last night saying a similar deal was in play. But with DeBrusk instead of Grelzlyc

Is Poitras going to be a player? Because the other two seem underwhelming. Poitras is about to turn 20 and went straight to the NHL from the OHL as a centre it seems. Was almost .5 ppg before season ended due to shoulder surgery.
