I said it in the game thread, our 4th line did a LOT of the heavy lifting on this one. They were buzzing out there.

Oilers never tanked. They were going for it just as hard as they are now every one of those years.

Can't really blame this poster as they probably don't watch or hear much about the Flames but are they ever wrong.

Yes sorry didn't mean to quote there.
Barry Gibbs looked more liked Freddie Mercury.

I'll tell you the same thing I tell my kids. Be careful with 'Official Photos.'
Driver's license, Passports, Team Photos, that kind of thing. Because when you're driving down the Highway in a White Bronco thats the photo the news is going to show and the court of public opinion will judge you on that single photograph.

The better advice would be to tell your kids not to be caught driving a Ford Bronco.

If I also remember correctly, his famous falsetto came as a result of blocking a few too many shots in the junk.

Mark Spector, pfff...even if his beloved Oilers made it in the playoff, doesn't matter who they face, it'll be a waste of 8 days.

Down the rabbit hole.
Barry Gibbs hat trick was against the Rangers. Dec 31 1975
Cowboy Bill Flett had 5 points for the Flames as well.
Montreal was playing Red Army same night in that infamous game.
Flames had just lost to the Leafs 2 nights earlier when Lanny had 4 points for Leafs and Pat Quinn fought Tiger Williams.
Two future NHL head coaches were in the Flames lineup for the Rangers game Pat Quinn and 19 year old Rick Bowness who only played 5 games that year.
48 years ago. Do you think any Flames player on the current roster will be an NHL head coach in 2071?

Those are terrible lyrics.
