I don’t think anyone hopes bad for the guy, no matter his involvement or not in 2018. Nobody deserves mental health issues I think most agree. But some are getting up in arms over talk of his play because the focus headline in this case is his mental health? Don’t they go hand in hand? And simply talking about it is a problem, because his family may read a message board? Pretty sure I don’t agree. It’s a message board. As long as nothing is made up, who cares? The idea behind a board isn’t to get likes or harm others, it’s to get opposing views.

Yep, completely agree. I'm honestly surprised guys like Lucic and Brouwer never stepped away. You could tell they were in some pretty dark places, whether it was solely related to their play or things in their personal lives.

I think humans can cope in a lot of different ways. For some, hockey is probably their mental reprieve. We heard about Tkachuk having a hard time during the pandemic, socially isolated and cut off from family. He was reported to just spend all his time at the rink, focusing on hockey to get by.

For other people, it seems the weight of a mentally tough situation takes away their ability to focus, and leads to poor performance at hockey, which probably just makes everything feel worse.

So maybe some were fighting through it because they didn't want to admit they should step away, or maybe staying with hockey was a big help to them.

I’m glad we are entering an era of hockey where guys can get the help they need. Mental health is a subject still not discussed enough and disparaged too much. If the nhl is like the rest of society there are lots of players dealing with mental health issue. Fame and fortune is hardly a great environment for that. Wish him all the best and hope he gets all the support needed to get healthy.

Yea... might want an updated comment from Rasmus on Dube and the so-called "Twitter monsters".

The Flames, Kylington and Andersson all coming off a little silly from this Dube situation. Of course, Kylington and Rasmus were commenting simply based on the "mental health" aspect.

Oof.

Lucic and now Dube.

Weren't we sold on how good the character of this locker room was?

Disgusting.

He really teed his teammates up for some residual backlash here. What a prick.

Can't put any blame on Andersson or Kylington - they were commenting on what they knew.

It all sits with the organization and Dube.

And this incident aside, Rasmus ain't wrong in general about Twitter monsters (or some CP posters). I've made that argument a lot here. People need to be a little more circumspect.

It's obvious his teammates were in the dark based on the comments.

What do you expect them to say?

Rasmus wasn't wrong about anything with the information he had at the time

Next are we going to be mad at people for watching the Cosby show in the 80s??
