they literally are but keep going on and on and on
yeah everyone knows there are games in hand but thanks for the revelation
LA looks to be falling out...1 win in 9 games, that is worse than any stretch this season for the Flames
The Amazing Oilers won 11 in a row, mostly against bad teams and...have basically gained nothing on the Flames
Flames are 2 points out, even games
looks like we have a race
3 spots reasonably available to the Flames

Only watched the last 2 periods but was totally bored through most of the 2nd and thought the Flames lacked any sort of flow...just couldn't get anything going. Nice to see Backlund have a great game...maybe he set the tone? Certainly was a big part of tonights game.

And it is only Jan 16, so scoreboard watching is far too premature with 3+ months left in the regular season.
Flames are passing the eye test for the most part since early November TBQH.

Eventually it'll come the other way, and not just for a game or two.
Thing about the Flames is they've been consistent since the end of october.
Some of these other teams are streaky and riding heaters. Seattle can be lumped in there, and they've already begun to teeter the other way.
Flames just need to keep doing what they have been doing, which is winning roughly 2 of every 3. The turtle will win the race if they keep up their consistent compete level and Markstrom stays semi-healthy.

2nd wildcard with 5 teams from the Pacific making it is a more realistic target. The Central division really isn't very good after the top 3 this year.

Ruzicka, Duehr and Dube are contributing almost nothing
AHL scrubs Hunt, Jones and Bishop can probabLy replace them and nobody would notice, maybe get a jump in energy

I didn't skip anybody, and you said nothing about gaining ground. You said we were 3 points out of 3rd in the division.

YOU said 3rd place. You didn't say anything about NSH or a WC spot.

they could be in any of the three spots by Saturday night...I hope the Flames don't settle for WC2
Shoot for the moon, why not? The hardest part of their schedule is done and they passed with flying colors

Now that we won, the icing on the cake would be to see that psycho Kesselring suspended.

That all we got from that was a 2min PP is a travesty... but not at all unexpected from NHL refs.

Looks like the Oilers are taking us seriously now:
Draisaitl was spotted prepping for the battle of Alberta during the Leafs game...

likewise
we didn't need 10 posts to learn what games in hand are, we all know
it was a big win, fans are having fun...this is supposed to be fun
I half said it because I know the usual suspects would come flying in, now I just need an Oiler fan on the hook
2 points up Oiler, "cup contenders"
