Celebrated Square Root Day

I've heard from someone close that the Flu is definitely going through the Flames right now. Almost every team that deals with this loses 2 or 3 that they should have won, it's really difficult to play up to speed when players are in various stages of recovery. Keep that in mind.

Well in fact the entire team is worse this year, if a team’s record means anything. With better goaltending.
Not many guys playing well TBH. People love to hate on Lucic and Lewis but they weren’t really the problem.

But by this logic the flu is going through every opposing team too, so it should balance out.
Flames just don't have enough high end talent. The guys we thought had it don't. The guys who might have it aren't there yet.

Not all teams get the flu at the exact same time

It means Flames have played teams battling the flu and likely will in the future.

What? It usually goes through a handful of teams and at different times.

Someone needs to brainwash Huberdeau to think he's in the last year of his contract.

Yes, but I'm not sure how that contradicts what I said. I was stating that the Flames are going through it right now, so expect some poor play and losses as any team does when they get it.
He made it seem like I was making some claim that only the Flames will deal with the flu this season. I wasn't claiming that it doesn't even out (although it really doesn't because only a handful of teams get it each year).
My only point was related directly to how the team is playing this week, nothing more.

Everybody is statistically worse this year because of that horrendous October.

Huberdeau has been a 50 pt scorer as a Flames
Do you see that changing Sutter or not?
Nice to blame everything on Sutter but he was not the main problem with Huberdeau

I feel like this is some kind of CP insider thing because I see it so often. Does anyone else double take when they see "this player did this as a Flames" instead of Flames player?
It looks so silly and awkward.

I’m not trying to contradict you. Teams deal with sickness, injuries , travel, suspensions, back to backs. It’s natural fans only think about how it affects their team.

I'm not blaming everything on Sutter. I'm just pointing out some things he did that clearly impeded Huberdeau's play – and plenty of posters on CP were complaining about it at the time.
Keeping a prospect in the minors is not the only way to hold a player back.

Insider thing or a much simpler explanation of predictive text when people are typing "as a Flame".
Many people here probably type "Flames" enough that their phones smart type with the S on the end.

On the bright side, Huby is now ranked 13th league wide in plus/minus. A few more nights like tonight and he'll be leading the league in the category. Highly impressive given he's playing with two-way standouts in Coleman and Backlund.

It’s obvious now Sutter was not holding back Huberdeau
Huberdeau has transitioned into a 50 pt scorer on his own

He missed the net. He f’d up bad. I was also calling for his head.
But how do you take a 115 point playmaker and think putting him with Backlund is going to make him blossom?
I get he didn’t work with Lindholm, but the players who work with Backlund are young and learn to work hard. How do you not get this guy a skilled player to work with? There’s a reason on all of his rushed he passes back to the D men.

Like who? They've tried Lindholm, Kadri, and everyone else. Backlund is producing at the same usual rate that we've seen for years so it's not as though it's his fault Huberdeau is doing nothing special.

But what does that have to do with what I said? I was literally only stating that THIS WEEK they will likely be losing games and struggling to play. I don't have a bias, I understand that a handful of other teams will also deal with the flu. I understand that things generally even out. The poster came at me like I didn't understand that, which was weird considering what I said, and you backed him up.
