What if he becomes the next player that asks for a trade?

At least he didn't get Gigantism.

Too put the cart way in front of the horse, I definitely did think to myself last night, that to trade away Z, Tanev, and Hanifin we would need Kylington back and an NHL d-man back in one of the trades just to dress a respectable NHL lineup.

Absolutely fantastic news for Kylington!

It's great that he's recovering this well. It takes some serious stones to come back to a high-pressure situation after having mental health troubles. I don't know if he'll play again any time soon, but it is enormously encouraging that he is ready to take this next step in the public eye.

Oh, and it's nice for the Flames, too.

Zadorov may not have been popular in the locker room for his outspokenness but the team would have acted much sooner if he was such an acute issue.
Yeah, it makes no sense. There is no way the Flames would keep paying a player for that reason.

If there is a connection between Kylington practicing with the team and the Zadorov trade, it's that the Kylington was ready to practice and Conroy decided to pull the trigger on the trade now to avoid the impression that we were going to need to dump cap at some point soon. It would just be another reason for teams to lowball even more.

Kylington returning is not something I had anticipated.

Might be a turn of events that will allow the Flames to continue selling UFA Dmen but remain competitive on the ice at the same time.

Getting way ahead here but does end of the season/next year look like:

Zary-Kadri-Pospisil
Huberdeau-Backlund-Coleman
Mangiapane-Coronato-Pelletier
Ruzicka-Dube-Greer

Weegar-Andersson
Solovyov-Kylington
Gilbert-Poirier

Markstrom-Wolf

You don't have Sharangovich.

Absolutely love Kylington, I honestly wasn't sure if we'd see him again. Hockey aside, I'm so happy he seems to be in a decent place right now.

If one player was such a problem that he was keeping our most promising defensive prospect, who also suffers from personal issues, out of the lineup, you'd hope the organization would do the sane thing and get rid of that #5 d-man a long time ago.

You're almost certainly correct. Kylington was just about ready to go. Maybe they decided to keep him out a few days extra while the Zadorov trade was going down. No other connection though.

He's a major reclamation project at this point, and might never actually be able to play a game. Let's not get carried away.

This is like found money if it pans out.

He’s such a great skater.

Flames might go from one of the oldest to one of the youngest rosters in the league by the end of the season

How does the roster get younger with Kylington specifically? He's 26. Same age as Hanifin. 2 years younger than Zadorov.

I understand if Tanev and Lindholm are gone and rookies take their spots.

Statistically, Kylington-Tanev was the second-best pair in the entire NHL that year, trailing only Toews-Makar. +/- is a poor stat, but all the other stats were dominant for them.
