I'm in USD. Was looking at Krakens tickets for Saturday, but not playing that much.

Hoping they drop to around $50 all in.

But there are maybe 100 direct tickets available on ticketmaster right now (pink verified don't count as they're already sold to an original and can't be returned and therefor count towards total attendance already) which would imply an announced attendance of over 19000 and nearly a sellout, lol.
As predicted, announced attendance of 16,780. And yet ticketmaster had it as 100 or so seats left, lol.

I think the press level is 3,000 seats or so?

16-17000 isn't a bad crowd to be honest...pretty much a sellout most places. The way some of you talk you would think they are getting like 3000

Yes, but I'm not sure what you're point is? The ticketmaster map that I went off of shows all available press level tickets. It's part of the 100 or so available.

What? 16-17k is not a sellout most places.

It's not a good crowd for sure. But 10 out of 32 teams would be within 1000 seats of selling out based on that game's attendance. We've got the 6th biggest arena, with ~3k seats in the press level.

For the larger arenas (19k+) lowest attendance percentage game so far this year compared to Flames (87.0%):

Buffalo: Less (66.0%)
Tampa: More (100%)
Florida: Less (83.9%)
Ottawa: Less (73.8%)
Detroit: Less (86.6%)
Philly: Less (79.7%)
Chicago: More (98.2%) (they've had two home games so far this season)
Montreal: More (100%)

It's hard to sell most of the seats in big arenas when you aren't an actual proven cup contender, a Bedard haver, or the French.

The music is so loud between whistles that it prevents the crowd from starting chants because nobody can hear it.

I wish NHL buildings would copy soccer and have supporters sections, where everyone knows they can stand/cheer and people around them will actually join in. These tickets are often amongst the cheapest in the building too.

For me, it’s not that I can’t afford to go to a game now and again, but rather that I just simply don’t see the value.
I know we’re talking on a completely different tier of hockey, but the best hockey atmosphere I’ve experienced in years, was last March in Belfast.

My son loves hockey and as luck would have it, there was a home game on the day we were at the Queen’s University open day. Against the wishes of my wife who absolutely did not want to go to a hockey game, I got us some good seats. In the tier above us, they had a singing section - IT. WAS. FANTASTIC.

The hockey isn’t on the same level - but the atmosphere was on another planet - I never had so much fun at a game - any game. My son loved it and remarked about how much louder the fans were than at the Dome. More importantly, my wife couldn’t believe what a great time she had at the game.

My son is now studying at Queen’s, so we’ll be back at the SSE arena because I’ll time my visits with home games.

We’ve got flight’s to Calgary for our annual March ski trip - getting tickets for the Flames hasn’t even been discussed. I’ll go if my son really wants to, but if he doesn’t bring it up, I won’t.

From my perspective, I don't want to go to games like I once did. Even with an 8 dollar ticket it's too expensive to be in the Saddledome and eat terrible overpriced food and then get home at 11:00. The product is stuck in the 80s.
We can only dream of the Flames’ product being stuck in the 80s. :-)

If it's dropping now though, wait until later in the season when the Flames are so far out of it nobody cares to go. It's not even been a month at this point.

It's more complicated than that. If there are 2-3,000 seats available every night, then there is no after-market for tickets. For STH's that means that any games I can't go to are basically worthless. That makes owning seasons much more expensive, and a much less attractive value proposition. Which puts more downward pressure on season ticket sales.

I know it's hard for owners (or anyone) to think about consequences 20 years down the line when there are dollar bills being jangled in front of your face now, but to me this has been one of the biggest issues with the league. They NHL has done a very poor job ensuring that kids have early and affordable access to the game, and it's going to bite them eventually. The stuff we're into as kids builds a bond for a lifetime (just think about all the toys and music that you're into...it almost always goes back to being a kid). That cheap ticket, or afternoon game with your family, may not make much money today...but when you hook those young fans for life it comes back to you in many multiples over the years. That fan matures into being a paying customer who buys tickets, buys merch, watches your media content, and eventually continues the tradition with their own family.

For me, we didn't have much money back then so only got to go to games when they were given to us, but those early memories of the late 80s and 90s are so strong, that's it's the one thin piece of string keeping me connected to the Flames right now. But my kids, and all the other kids who aren't being exposed to hockey for one reason or another right now? They're still building bonds...just not with hockey. That will eventually show up in their spending patterns as they get older. And the NHL will look around and wonder how they turned into the CFL.

So much sentimentality in this thread. Still remember when some absolute low life bastard decided the Flames goal song would be Who Let the Dogs Out. Made me thankful they were terrible so you'd only have to hear it once or twice a game.

FYI. Ticketmaster is showing all-in prices cheaper than Gametime for the Flames @ Krakens tonight.

Yeah, the fees plus conversion to CDN dollars is pretty bad on gametime. I ended up going with ticketmaster over gametime for an upcoming Flames game despite the "start price" being super low on gametime.

CSEC is really dropping the ball, if the team sucks you have to make it fun to go if you want people to spend that much money.

The music sucks, no chants suck, the prices for not great food, for STH the games get SUPER stale since the “entertainment” portion for the most part is just a repeat game after game, with construction getting there sucks…

All of this is almost forgivable if the team is doing great (or at least is entertaining), but all in all it is a serious lack of entertainment for a $200+ night out.

They need to hire someone better for programming/planning.
