I actually think the more they suck than the less likely it is any of the UFAs re-sign. That cannot be a fun room to be in and they’ll still all get paid with way.

This “zone defence” is either not being coached properly or the understanding and execution is totally being missed. Watching the flames defend and the puck was to the left of Markstrom, all 5 flames players were below the top of the circle and on markstroms left. This system isn’t giving them a breakout option because 5 skaters are within about 20’ of each other and they have 2 defenders and possibly 1 forward to defend against a zone exit.
It’s like watching a novice team trying to not have 5 kids on the puck and pretend to be spread out but actually being too clumped together to be effective.

What worries me is that this organization was trying to re-sign Treliving.
He built this mess. I argue that he butchered the last rebuild too. He inherited a team with some really good young pieces and no bad contracts. Can anyone say that the Flames are in a better situation now?
Part of me genuinely wonders if Sutter ignored a lot of the staff because they weren't very good at their jobs. What if Tre and Maloney hired a lot of useless support staff?
Nobody on the roster gives enough of a damn to do enough to even try to put the team on their shoulders. Everyone seems content to collect their paycheck and carry on to the next game.
No heart, no hustle, no flame.
Makes it hard to watch or even care about this group to be honest.

Its fine. I just want ownership to be honest. Just let it happen at this point. Stop putting a gun to every GMs head saying playoffs or bust. Let Commander Huska drive this tank to the bottom.

Of course.
Sutter knows hockey, and he knew his hand was terrible.
It's unfortunate he got as negative and toxic as he did but I have no doubt he knew exactly what we all do now, he just saw it much sooner.

Well I mean out of all the pending UFAs we had this off-season he did trade the only one who committed to wanting to be here and was our leading scorer last season...
And he traded that 30 goal scorer for a Belarussian healthy scratch who has looked either disinterested or utterly lost since his arrival.

Seriously we need to go full Edmonton. Boo these players when you see them in public. Make them hate it here so they will go ANYWHERE else. They can tell all their buddies to not sign here too so we don’t see these stupid contracts to 4th liners anymore.
