Some of my hesitation about Stromgren has dissipated. He'll be in the A.

I turned it on with about six minutes to go. Morin is really noticeable in all the right ways. Smart, good reads. Pretty exciting player I think.

Yeah, they would have dominated the WHL if Stromgren was there with them all year, no doubt about it.
Just having 3 guys on a line with height and long wingspans and you can see how difficult it is for the other team to handle them.

A couple of thoughts.
Kerins
Kerins is soft on the puck. Lots of bad passes, giveaways and fly by forechecks. I think he does have skill, but not the habits to back it up.
Klapka
He is a hard-working player. He uses his size and speed well to create space. Makes simple and smart plays with the puck ( though he held the puck a little too long a few times in the third). Easily the most physically ready player in the Flames lineup. He is going to push for a spot in camp
Honzek
Isn’t ready yet. Here and there he makes strong plays on the puck but was prone to forcing plays. I’m sure those plays work in the WHL but not against men. Though I do like that he had a nose for the net later in the game.
Stromgren
A beautiful shot for a fast goal off the draw. Looked comfortable. He won a nice series along the boards early in the second. Strong on the puck. Stromgren also played some PK. Hard not to like his game.
Nikolayev
He had a very good game. Hard on every puck. An excellent checking forward. Closing gaps, Forcing turnovers, moving the puck in the right direction. Clearly has some grown man hockey under his belt. I love the habits he plays with. A real comfortable player in his own zone. Flames depend on him in the PK and the 5-3. Sneaky dangerous with the puck. Love how hard he played after the game was in the bag. That said, not sure if he has the speed for the NHL
Coronato
So much skill with the puck. I am not sure he will ever be the kind of guy who drives a line, but I think that he is going to be dangerous in the slot. A couple of weak passes in the 2nd that lead to a penalty against. He 100% has another gear we will see in camp.
Lapinski
A strong kid, hard on the puck a nose for space in traffic. Great on the draw. Very impressed by his game. I can't wait to watch him after a year of growth.
Bell
A hard worker, but man does he flop all over the ice.
Ciona
A hard worker, strong down low. He lacks skill with the puck at this level.
Kuznetsov
He never looks out of place, but I am not sure he is the first player I want with the puck in transition.
Morin
You can tell he likes to have the puck on his stick. Facilitated offense well. Played hard in the corners. Held the blue line in the O zone well. I am really excited about him in the future.

The Giants should trade for Parker Bell.

I was hoping at some point Nikolaev would be swapped with Kerins as I really didn't think Kerins was all that sharp and Nikoleav had two strong games.

Good game but you can tell that this was an early season tournament, lots of broken plays and double coverage.
Coranato - It think we are going to see some growing pains, maybe trying a bit too much, but iit will be worth it.
Morin - this kid is going to be great. He holds the line so well and seemed to be getting shots through.
Honzek - you can see the skill. There was one great drive to the net in the second where he left two defenders.
So great to have flames hockey back.

Flames have a lot of size in the farm system right now...would be funny to see this lineup for one of the split squad games on the 25th.
Honzek - Lindholm - Sharangovich
Stromgren - Ruzicka - Klapka
Bell - Lipinski - Duehr
Ciona - Rooney - Schwindt
Hanifin - Tanev
Zadorov - Kuznetsov
Desimone - Soloyov
Markstrom
Vladar
No idea what the tallest lineup the Flames have ever dressed for a pre-season game would be...but that would be pretty close. Everyone but Lindholm is 6'2" or over.
The "Big = Good lineup"

Lots of players I liked over the last 3 games, but I thought I would specifically mention a few players.
Coronato - just reminds me more and more of Cammalleri the more I watch him.
Lipinski - I didn't think too much of him and felt he was a real longshot of a pick. I found myself more and more impressed with his game. Who knows what he will end up becoming, but he certainly doesn't look like a run of the mill 4th round pick at this point. He looks like a legitimate prospect out there. Ok, maybe he will become a 'run of the mill Calgary 4th round pick - Brodie, Gaudreau' lol. Even with a short sample size, I would probably rank him higher. He does a lot of the little things right already.
Ciona - Another player that I wasn't exactly very high on, but he has been a revelation. I would bet he has an NHL career at this point. Now I see why he was the captain - kid oozes leadership, and he does so much well. He looked like a kid who has already played pro to me.
Klapka - I am a big fan. The way he skates and how much ground he covers out there makes him a difficult player to play against already. I actually hope he doesn't fight too much this upcoming season - I want him to really develop his game with the puck. I think he has a strong game without the puck, but I would love to see him just gain a bit more confidence and experience in making plays and taking more shots. I think he can become an excellent 4th line player who can play a regular shift on the PK and who won't hurt your team if he gets caught out there. If he can't develop a more offensive ceiling, I would love to see him developed into a shadow. His strength, skating ability and reach would give a lot of elite players fits IF he can really develop in that direction. I would really love to see it actually, and if he does, he can be a beast as part of a shut-down line.
I am not saying these players were my favourites or even the best players over the last 3 games, but just players that really made me think.
For instance, I love Honzek, and believe he is going to be such an important player for this organization for years to come. Morin is raw, but I can see they hype around him. Although not Flames property (AFAIK anyway), I really like Murphy too, especially considering I always think goalies look terrible without a long camp/preseason games. To come in relatively cold, I think he was fantastic. Lots of other names to mention that stood out to me.

After that tourney I’m not as worried about dumping Hanifin.
Gilbert, Kylington and Kuznetsov can all play.

If you took off the name bars, most would pick Lipinski over Honzek as the 1st round pick.
At least in today's game.
Him and Klapka stood out. The whole Stromgren line was great though.

Klapka, Kuznetsov and Coronato where probably the 3 players that stood out for me at the tourney.
Klapka looks to be the most physically ready. Played solid. No mistakes. Surprisingly good offensively.
Kuznetsov was smooth. Steady in his own end. Always made good plays with the puck. Great first passes. Excellent positioning. Good with the puck in tight quarters.
Coronato wasn’t as great as I expected. But he was the one player that you could tell wanted the puck. He wasn’t afraid to generate offense. He does have a great shot. He’s definitively a trigger man. They flames don’t have many guys like him in the organization.
That being said all of the other players looked like they belonged as well. No one stood out as not belonging. But the above three stood out consistently over the 3 games.

Lipinski was the big surprise for me- I like him, but I didn't expect him to look as good as he did (although he had a few sloppy shifts), outplaying some of the older players. It looked like he was taking quite a few o-zone faceoffs, and winning more than his fair share (don't have the numbers in front of me though). He was not afraid to do the dirty work, or get involved, and his mobility looked a lot better than it did, at least in the first half of last season in the 'dub.
