It's fairly stupid to speculate on OK's family situation, and a lot of his takes are fairly wild, but I agree that the pile on against Trent is pretty gross.

It was a dumb post, let's move on, shall we?

I assume it's likely he'll play with Tanev again?

Have to think Hanifin is dealt for a lesser D and a top D prospect or something. Kylington imo will need to be paired with Tanev, Zadorov with Oesterle. Tanev is very injury prone so wouldn’t be surprised to see Weegar and Andersson split up sometimes because I don’t want Kylington and Zadorov paired up. That’s a liability pairing waiting to happen.

Let the piling on of people piling on Trent continue, however!

Mental health issues are awful. I've seen it in friends, family and others as well where it's taken lives or led to drastic measures.

I'm really happy to see Kylington took the time he needed to deal with those challenges and is in a better spot. I hope he has a tremendous life off the ice and I hope those challenges are behind him.

It’s only a pile-on if it comes from the Piléon region of France

I’m so impressed he not only came out openly about it but that he also fought through it like a champion. Most people can’t overcome it and it seems that he did. Also so impressed by the way the Flames organization handled it. Amazing all around. He’s a world class talent, and human being it seems, and I will be a huge fan of his next season. I always loved his game. The guy was supposed to go 5th overall 6 months before the draft. He obviously has the skill set to be a game breaker. We’ve all seen it.

Flames D next year is world class.
Raz - Hanifin
Tanev - Weegar
Zadorov - Kylington

If we get goaltending from Marky, Wolf, and/or Vladar, we are a playoff team.

The forwards are younger and better. All we really lost was Toffoli.

Why are we putting weegar on the Left? Put him on the right and bump tanev to 3rd pair.

Huska has talked about how he likes Weegar and Andersson together

If Hanifin is still here when the season starts though I think we get Hanifin-Andersson, Kylington-Tanev, Zadorov-Weegar

Weegar is better as an LD. Also makes him and Andersson a fantastic top pairing.

Every time we have “world class D” on paper it goes the opposite way.

Lol. You're right. Remember when Russell - Wideman was best pairing ever?

Source? Seems to be fairly evident he's better on his natural side. Steinberg did a deep dive on it after the season and it was fairly conclusive. He's not Brodie.

No source, just the eye test imo. Pretty sure he was always paired with Ekblad or Montour in Florida and also played with Tanev for a good amount of time. It wasn’t until Tanev was injured that he played the right side with Zadorov.

Of course someone can throw out the stats or whatever source you have to back up what you’re saying, but I personally would rather have Weegar with Andersson as a legitimate top pairing, as I think Weegar is the best defenseman we have that plays a 200 ft game.

That allows Hanifin to be traded and Kylington/Zadorov to split #4/5 duty with Tanev.

Kylingtion hasn't played a game of hockey in over a year now. I would put him alongside Zadorov for a while and shelter him a little until he starts feeling comfortable out there again.

Weegar-Andersson
Hanifin-Tanev
Kylington-Zadorov

That's how I would run it for now. The only question is if Hanifin is moved before the season starts. If is traded a month into the season, then we will all know if the Flames will need to find a replacement until Kylington shows improvement, or if Kylington is indeed ready for top 4 minutes/competition.
