It is difficult to find an elite player at 16 without there being other red flags.

Barnburner mock has the Flames taking....Gulyayev.

I'm all for it but I got Simashev over him.

I went Perreault. Of all the guys on that list I’ve watched play on TV he seems by far the one with the most potential game breaker ability. We need that so bad.

Wood did not look great to me, didn’t use his size, seemed kinda slow. Danielson I’ve not seen, so can’t really comment.

Current poll leader:

2nd place (currently):

Both right-shot centers. I like.

I'm probably leaning towards Wood, though. I feel like we're looking for a center who can eventually play with Huberdeau, and Wood is more of a shooter (and has a better shot) (although, like a lot of playmakers, Danielson's shot is really accurate).

Edit: And, of course, the right-shot center I like the most of the two, may not even be a center lol (in spite of the video's bio on him). I guess a right-shot RW sniper sounds pretty good too... lots to like about Danielson, but there's only one puck and I'm kinda hoping the goal is to find a top-line guy that can play with #10.

Pretty sure Wood is a winger.

Can't remember who I was listening to, but there was the thought his game will transition to centre well and that he's played some centre in the past year?

I think it was spot duty. Filling in for a short stint because they were short. Everything I've read from the Gizzl8es to UCONN, he's a winger.

Edit: to be clear, If he becomes a center, great, we've seen wingers go to center by players in out own system (Coronato did it a lot last season)

I like Wood, but he's down the list.

I was on the Yager train yesterday, today I'm on the Callum Ritchie train.
Thought I had my mind made up. Ritchie says all the important things for me.
Didn't play the "what if" games in his interviews when it came to his shoulder injury.
There's a top ranked player there buried on a bad team and a return from injury.

Oh for sure, but I will take a chance on a player with an elite attribute or two, but has holes over a player who is very good across the board. I think you have to target elite skills and hope you can get the red flags sorted out.

Yeah, the thumbnail for the video has him as a RW, but the bio section has him as a C. I've seen sites listing him as either RW or F, so I've been wondering if maybe he switched to C this year or something.

Question: How does 244 shots in 68 WHL games compare to 102 shots in 35 Hockey East?

From watching a few other videos, I have the impression that Wood leans more on the shooting side than Danielson but a straight shot-to-gp comparison (without factoring in the different leagues), it would seem like it's the other way around.
