When the GDT's get as stabby as the GT's or PGT's is my definition of rock bottom for people believing in the team.
What's the O/U on when AT77 starts bumping threads? End of the 2nd?

Huberdeau was a (strategically deployed) 2nd line player and a PP specialist in Florida - and he was awesome in both roles, and with Barkov’s line doing the heavy lifting it allowed him to flourish…but that’s not the role either Tkachuk or Gaudreau played to carry this team to success. No one of Gaudreau and Tkachuk’s skill level was available, so we ended up with the next best thing…and here we are.
Weegar is effectively another Hanifin, and Huberdeau just doesn’t look like a play driver in this system/with these teammates. We’re clearly trying to put Huberdeau in the same spot as he was in Florida with these somewhat constant line changes but all that has done is further expose the lack of top end talent on the team.
The Flames lost two elite/franchise forwards and aimed to stay competitive through team depth. It’s not working (so far), and I’m increasingly pessimistic that it will with this current mix. The alternative (to the Florida trade) was a full rebuild (which was my preference) - but I still think Treliving did a damn good job in what he was attempting to do…I just don’t think it’s the way you win this league anymore, and this season is a good case study in that.
Your stars drive your success. This team has no stars (Huby may be one…but he certainly isn’t one here so far).

I just think of how fast things change. Johnny was a play driving hero then a play sucking bum then a hero again and he left. Chucky didn't give a #### in 2021 but now he's the best. Huby has had a bad start. It can change.

I think we’re in a bad place right now with lack of confidence, lack of speed, lack of skill and not creating chances on offense.
The concrete shoe’s behind the bench makes this a lot worse.
Starting Vladar makes way more sense as does playing Phillips and second Z, so why keep going to a lineup that is losing games and not generating offense.
Not going to stay up and watch this one, but mostly because I don’t expect a different result or entertaining hockey.

hoping they play to win rather than playing not to lose - so tentative and hesitant

If you can’t toss in Phillips against the Sharks after Zohorna’s illness, then just send him back and try to move him elsewhere.
At some point it’s unfair to the player to string him along about opportunities.

This is a regional game on Sportsnet West. Centre Ice is required for viewers outside the Flames region.
