It is starting to look like Edmonton shook Markstroms confidence.

Last year he looked like a brick wall with the same low shot volume. This year he looks like an open net with the same low shot volume.

The team scored 6 goals, SIX!!!

ALL 4 lines contributed in the goals, FOUR!!!

AND the team won!!!

That's good for me.

He's rusty, cut him a break.

Yes, let's compare our expectations to a team in the middle of a rebuild.

Good to see both Toffoli and Lindholm with three-point nights.

Meh… happy about the win, I think some confidence is starting to come back for the offensive but it still feels like they are over thinking the game a bit and playing scared. I think the pressure and drive to win is in their heads a bit and it shows with the mistakes they are making. This team really needs to finds some lines that work and settle in so they can gain that confidence in each other, so that trust is built and they aren’t over compensating or trying to do to much. It feels like they need to just simplify a bit and dumb it down when the get the lead and realize the skill and ability they have doesn’t need to be full display every night, sometimes it is about playing a simple game. Off the glass and out!

On a second note, not a lot of trust in Huberdeau from the coaching staff as on the 4 on 4 Lewis jumps over the boards with Backlund. They need to get that sorted out!

I thought lindholm played a solid game, less about waiting for a pass to shoot and more straight to the net, been really impressed with Toffoli as well.

This road trip will be big for Calgary and I suspect we are going to learn a lot about this team shortly as it really is make or break time.

Flames? #4 in the league for least.
This is my concern. You might even say that good team defense is making our goalie look better than he's playing.

A HDCF of 82% is one of the more dominant games for any team this season.

Kings were a playoff team last year, are second in the division right now, and have a higher cap hit than the Flames.

Think you might be mistaken that they are “rebuilding”

They have some great young pieces, but they are clearly trying to win now.

I know we out played them. I know we out chanced them. But to need 6 goals to win a game is problematic. I don't know if it's Markky or the D. But 5 goals against is brutal.

Also, he made the big one when it mattered most
To be fair, that was only a big save because he let in other goals he should have saved. If that's the save to make it 6-4 who cares.

The Flames gave up 7 high danger chances, that's a pretty good night.

I definitely don’t think Markstrom would have 6 wins if he were on those other teams

Huberdeau was in the box on the second four on four, if that the one you’re talking about.

It looked like the Kings were having a lot more breakdowns than the Flames. I think the Kings got lucky we scored only 6. In addition, it seemed as though every chance except the Kopitar one went in for the Kings tonight.

The defensive coverage seemed pretty good all night. I would even say that we’re going to go on a long winning streak if we keep playing this way. For example, I don’t remember any odd man rushes against. I just don’t expect perfection, because the other team is getting paid to score too. The Flames only need to address who picks up the trailer when the D join the play.
