List of teams with over 6M in cap space is incredibly short

I looked it up. Hamilton and Ferland both walked as UFAs.

The Canes got 2 second round picks in 2019 and 2020 from the Rangers for Fox.

There were some 3 way trade shenanigans with the 2019 pick and it ended up in the hands of Ottawa who drafted G Mads Sogaard. I can't figure out what if anything Carolina got back in this.

Noel Gunler was the 2020 pick, and he is on his ELC playing with AHL Chicago. No NHL games yet.

So to answer your question, yes, but barely.

I don't doubt for a second that they did. I'm just looking at a hypothetical situation for the sake of conversation.

The Hurricanes are blowing the Kraken out of Seattle. It is 5-1 for Carolina.

I still question that expansion draft performance by Francis

This is just Chapter 2 of a poorly written story

Wow.

But also, on a technical level, wow.

As in, I want to see the database they have that lets them look up stuff like that.

We also don't have Kadri if we keep Monahan lol.

I hope Monahan revives his career, but in order for that to happen he needed a change of scenery.

Just to look at how hes playing and producing and automatically assume he would do the same here is pretty foolish in my opinion.

I could see Colorado making a play for him at the deadline if Montreal is is seller mode at the deadline.

team,
season,
max_lead >=2,
game_of_year <=3,
result = L.

All the data is on Hockey Reference, just scrape it.

Didn't know they had max_lead as a search criterion. That would do it. Otherwise it would be slow and painful.

I'm not sure that they do, but there are scoring summaries for each game that would make it fairly simple to create a calculated field for.

Got it. A small matter of coding, but nothing more complicated than you routinely get in spreadsheet formulas.

I suppose SN has a statistician to do all the legwork on that kind of thing, as it's not something I imagine most on-air personnel would be up for.

I could see that too .. and it sucks cause I'd hate for Sean to go to a team we have to go through in the po's

we've had mony take reps as the 1 2 3 and 4C .. Kadri is simply better, and more so now . still want mony to flourish but no regrets

Lucic, and an additional pick with the 1st. Or even Backlund.

Looks like 12. They're 2-7-3 in that time. The 2 wins were one in OT and one in a shootout.

Oddly enough, the Leafs' last regulation home win against the Coyotes was exactly 20 years ago on October 17, 2002.
