The dude is doing it from Buffalo! There is a time change, his boys are getting older, was living with his in-laws for a bit....he obviously has made some life changes for his family to re-locate to Buffalo out of all the places so the fact we (if you enjoy his content) get to see him or hear him at all is a bonus. Plus I am enjoying the show being shorter, as much as I enjoyed them on the fan this seems to work better.

Agreed with the comments, first episode as expected was glitchy but they got it sorted out and man you forget how natural this line of work is for Boomer & Pinder with Rhett sprinkled in. That episode with Andrew Walker was awesome, it was like my commute to work from 11 or so years ago hearing Boomer, Walker & Rhett together. Walker makes an offside joke and the other two sheepishly laugh! If the work schedule allows it I usually try to listen to Marek from 10-10:30 on the fan as Friedman is usually on and then switch to Barn Burner.

Really enjoyed it so far. Glad in Calgary we have some good options during the work day.

One story from Rhett about when he was traded 20 years ago.

Warrener and Boomer did not address or acknowledge the comment and moved on. A little different when it’s a guest and not the show hosts IMO but to each their own. Ray also used the term “Stumpy Smurf” so if you’re offended by jokes at the expense of those who are of short stature, you don’t need to listen either I guess.

Feels like some people are just looking for an excuse to be offended.

Have you watched/ listened or basing off of one posted clip which you saw? Warrener was telling a story from 20 years ago about getting told he was traded to Calgary. Boomer and Warrener are anything but “dude bros”.

Also should add that in yesterday’s show it came out that they’ve been advised by ??? that they need to tone down the language. I think there are bigger plans the show then what they’re currently doing.

I'm trying to imagine what it would be like, getting offended by something like that

If that's the bar, I assume that owning a fainting couch would be a must

It was more of an attempt to take shots at Warrener than anything else.

I never really cared for Rob...but then my memory of why comes from an incident back in the mid 90's and it has become a bit muddled. When Gary Roberts was having his neck issues there was a game against Buffalo and there were comments from one of either Rob Ray, Brad May or Matthew Barnaby indicating they were going to fight Roberts regardless of what he was going through, it was pre game and not from on-ice activity. Does anyone else remember this?

I listened a bit and listened back in the day...lot of talk about getting wasted and OMG we can swear so edgy.

It's not about being offended it's just not my taste. Others are free to enjoy it.

The guys are trying to make a go of it on their own the best they can and it’s going to take time to refine their craft in a less restrictive format. It’s one thing to say it’s not to your taste but no need to exaggerate things.

I’ve watched some recently since I wanted some more Flames content. I do really like their takes on the Flames but I find the rest to be a lot of filler. I guess it is typical morning radio chatter but since I don’t have the shared history of listening to them for years I find it mostly boring/awkward.

Yeah I think they'd benefit from doing way less episodes, there's just not enough to talk about.

I've always appreciated their Flames takes. Especially Warrener as he lacks the inhibitions of trained media guys. Really refreshing actually to hear a guy just say "goalie sieved out" as opposed to the 5 layers of preamble and caveats the fan 960 hosts like Steinberg do before criticizing any player

And this is where I disagree. As a morning show it was as much about entertainment as it was sports. Warrener’s dog, Pinder’s twins, Boomer’s cooking, Pinder’s backpack, Warrener’s stories, Boomer’s radio career all mixed in with Flames talk sports stories and guests. They are still not to where they once were but they’re also redefining the show and trying to find their way. Deep down I’m waiting for them to go from Barn Burner to Bridge Burner and delve right into the horror stories from Rogers radio.

As for not being everyone’s preference, I get that as like I’ve said before, to me it’s an entertainment/ comedy show as much of a sports show. And when it comes to comedy, everyone certainly has their own tastes.

I for one am really enjoying it. I find the Fan960 to be hot garbage now and I never turn it on anymore.
