We nabbed a 1st from Florida in that crazy trade. If Tre uses it to offload Monahan so they can fit Kadri on I do not see an issue… some of you love being upset.

1st is too much for one year I agree with the other posters. the flames need about 4.5 mil in room to fit Kadri and Valimaki makes 1.55.

They could retain half the Monahan deal, send Valimaki off in another trade and get things over the line with some minor alterations from there to fit in a couple press box players. Hoping we're not paying a premium for another team to eat the whole deal.

Man, I love Monahan. Great person and great Flame.

As long as we're not paying a 1st though (that would be steep), I much prefer moving Monahan out than Lucic from a hockey standpoint.

That said, I think something is up with Monahan's injuries that is scaring the Flames away, especially as he had one year left and there was rumor of Lucic having interest around the league.
