Immediately disappointed that it's not "Hubes".
Sounds too much like pubes.

I assume it's all about the term and the money. One would expect that Florida did not like what they were hearing.

Weeger is a little harder to figure out, as he doesn't have a long history of success, unlike Huberdeau.

They’ll sign if Treliving give them a great contract that nobody else would. That’s about it at this point. They really don’t know the city or the team.

Now to our French reporters: “Johnny, when will you let the flames know you’re wanting to go to MTL?”

I feel pretty good that Weegar will eventually sign... not as much Huberdeau but that might just be a language thing.

Anyone bilingual able to translate this part?

Well they both used to play in the Q

Or the conspiracy theorists can start the Flames & Habs trade rumors if you'd rather.

I am glad St. Louis is not getting Tkachuk because they wouldn't trade anything of value for him and I hope the same thing happens to Montreal.

I get the feeling that it will be easier to get Weegar signed long term than Huberdeau.

I lived in Montreal for 3 years and would consider myself quite bilingual.

French media asked a question about Huberdeau's willingness to re-sign long-term, and Huberdeau reiterated the same point about being open to re-signing long-term with Calgary, just that it's still very early, and he'll leave it to his agent and the GM to begin these negotiations.

So... needless to say, Montreal media will be disappointed that he may not end up playing for the Canadiens lol
