Coyotes done with the Canucks trash are now bringing in Oiler trash. Kassian can probably replace Eriksson's stellar top-6 contributions in similar fashion.

Feel this is bad for the NHL. He's deliberately going to hurt people. Absolute gronk

Curious what Keith does now. I don’t think he retires because he has to feel that he has a real chance at the Cup after making it to the third round last year. If he does retire they would have about 22 million in cap space heading into free agency.

The NHL owners must love Arizona. Why move them? It's a dumping ground to get out of the bad contracts they have.

They have just over $10 mill now that Kassian is gone and if Keith retired that would give them just under $16 mill. I don't think Keith will retire anyways.

I have to admit that I’m kind of going to miss hating Kassian as an Oiler. He was just, I don’t know, such an Oiler

I picture Kassian and Stortini having bunk beds.

Its a better situation for the Oilers, with 10 million and 14 players signed.

Kassian might have been garbage but he got a ton of time in the top 6 for them, and also was outside of Nurse one of their only "tough guys" that could in theory protect the golddust twins.

Right now, they're going to have to resign Yamamoto and Mcleod which shouldn't be huge though Yamamoto as meh as he is, was a 20 goal scorer. Which means he should probably be in that 3.5 range. Mcleod probably gets a bit of a raise. Which leaves maybe 5 million for 4 players. and that includes a starting goalie.

I fully expect the full course Tonya Harding treatment for Keith and for Smith. But a top pairing defenseman is going to cost what 6 to 8, and a starting goalie 5 to 6.

They have more than that because Klefbom will be on LTIR.
