Just turned it on in the last 7 minutes, and realized that Stone, Valimaki and Mackey are all playing! How have they been. Didn't see any errors.

That was Erik Karlsson — having a nice bounceback year — who Lewis sped past to score that goal.

Pretty sweet.

Stone
Mackey
Val

In that order, through one period.

They were just fine. No bad plays defensively so that's a start.

Watching the SJ feed and it’s kind of maddening how they pronounce Chucky’s name “Kachook”.

I'm sure that's what Sutter wants to see. Forget about anything flashy to make a statement, just really structured hockey.

Good period given the circumstances

Back to back, backup goalie, tons of guys out sick (which means some playing also are)

I thought Mackey was good. He is another Dman who pins guys to the boards well and moves the puck quickly to the forwards. Valimaki played better as the period moved on and took good times to jump into the play when he had the chance.

To me they have both shown big strides in how they play since they have been in the minors, There is a good chance that they both could be here full time next season.

Is that why Rosie, Gudbransson, and Z are out?

I hadn't heard that but explains a lot.

Tkachuk is on pace to score more points than Iginla every did in a season. NOT a knock on Iginla just perspective of how much he is producing this year.

He has already blown by Eichel's career high take that Kevin Weeks

That was the rumor on the radio, apparently something has been going around.

What was most amazing about Iginla was his ability to score that much while an opposing player was waterskiing on his back. He was a one-man antidote to the Dead Puck Era.

But he's doing it from the wrong position, so it doesn't count. The Flames have to give all those wins back.

I think there are issues with some of the Hockey Reference stats, so take with a grain of salt- but per Hockey Reference the 10 ten flames single scoring seasons- ERA adjusted- highlights both of your points 1) how awesome 13 and 19 have been this year. 2) how awesome 12 was . period.

Adjusted Points 1. Jarome Iginla* • 2001-02 110
Johnny Gaudreau2021-22 110 3. Jarome Iginla* • 2007-08 107 4. Kent Nilsson1980-81 101 5. Theoren Fleury1994-95 100 6. Johnny Gaudreau2018-19 99 7. Matthew Tkachuk2021-22 98 8. Jarome Iginla* • 2006-07 96 9. Jarome Iginla* • 2010-11 94 10.Theoren Fleury1990-91
