Well, that was certainly not the score and direction of the score I was expecting to wake up to this morning. Why TF do we struggle so with the Canuks and Oilers.

Can't win them all and the Flames were fully deserving of the loss. You can only hope that officiating like this doesn't make its way into the playoffs as that was horrible. I don't even know what to say about some of the missed calls. I just don't understand why the officials were content to turn a blind eye to clear penalties committed by one team while calling everything on the other team.

Score flatters the Canucks. 3 or 4 of their goals puck grazed or hit iron and in.

On the other hand, Coleman bobbles the puck on his breakaway, Andersson goes high instead of keeping it on the ice with a stickless Demko. Backlund pulls a deke ,wide open net, but somehow shoots right at Demko. Goal called back for incidental call my a$$! Defender was draped all over Lindy.

The zebras took over the game after the 1st, 7 penalties total + penalty shot to a team who apparently did no infraction..ok 1 but still.

Also if you look at the advanced stats, 5 on 5 expected goals, Flames on top.
Score and venue adjusted 5 on 5, Flames on top
and the cherry on the top, in all situations, slight edge to the Canucks 2,93 to 2,77 with all the zebra help.

From what I saw yesterday Flames played much better than the last two games (vs Seattle and Winnipeg)

Good thing is we finally meet the Wild back to back so we will see how this group responds under Sutter.

That game was inevitable. Hopefully it doesn’t turn into a losing streak.

Sooner or later you’ll always have a game where the other team shows up, goalie is hot and nothing goes right on your end.

Trick is bouncing back.

Things had been coming a little to easy for this club and you could see bad habits starting to form.....this game was just the result of that.

Time to hit the practice ice and start paying attention to details from the head coach again.

Which bad habits specifically could you see starting to form? The wins against Seattle and Winnipeg were hard fought close battles, both one goal games (extra vs Jets into an empty net), neither of those wins came easy.

Just an ugly game, it happens, no bad habits starting to form or laziness due to winning IMO.That can almost be a cliched thing to say after a winning streak ends.
