Pretty sloppy overall. Wouldn’t want to be in that dressing room during this intermission.
On a side note, what was the deal with all the false starts off the face offs? Linesmen really struggled to drop the puck that period.

That's how you know we have a good team. Last year this would be average/good period. The Flames dictated the majority of the play, had one big mistake, and are still tied. They didn't dominate the first period, but they looked like the better team.

A little flat in the first, but not bad.
Seattle is doing a good job breaking up our forecheck before we can really get anything set up.

Thanks for correct spelling of gaffe.

How is almost doubling them in shots “barely outshooting” them. Mangiapane and Toffoli had grade A chances, and Tkachuk put one thru the crease for Ruzicka. Could be 3-1 easy.

Limit unforced turnovers in our end and its only a matter of time until they take this over.

Two trade deadlines at least. Even in his covid Farley Mowat period you could see it.

I don't know about Elite. If you take Sutter at his word(quoting loosely from memory): "we're not like his Kings teams, just trying to make the playoffs", "we're not a perfect team like Toronto", and so on. I think he will remind them of that in the intermission.

Some real sloppy play but without a brutal turnover in front Calgary would have the lead.
Not too worried overall but definitely some things to clean up

Sorry but it just doesn't work that way. The cap has made the NHL extremely competitive and any team can beat any other team on any given night.
I am far more concerned about how the Flames play against elite teams than I am about teams like Seattle. And good teams just don't get up for games against bottom feeders.
Also, the Flames were the better team that period. So maybe try to keep things in perspective. Fans need to be more like Sutter and keep an even keel.

It’s still the NHL. The spread between a bottom feeder with terrible save percentage and a good team is pretty small.
Y’all seriously can’t expect the flames to get 20SOG and 3 goals a period. That’s not going to happen. Chippy period, kraken riding emotion, tie game with flames scoring first and outshooting. Enjoy the damn game.

You want to know what’s really difficult to do in the NHL...no matter who you’re playing?
Win 9 games in a row!
