How about we hear from Kane himself? His words matter as much as anyone elses. A lot of people blasting Kane in this thread go into anti-racism threads and cause such an uproar. Yeah- your thinly veiled racism is pretty obvious in this one.
|
Why do you keep banging on about Kane? Serious question. A quick glance at your post history shows that its your main topic of interest lately. I get that there is a small chance that he may be misunderstood and is being railroaded, but even if that was true, why do you care? And why do you care what the majority of people think?
Honestly, seems like you are just trolling to me, but by all means, please clarify.

This board worships the ground Jarome Iginla walks on. We all pretty much agree he should be declared a Saint (or equivalent) in every major religion.
This isn't a race thing.
We love Jarome because he's an awesome player and a better human. We hate Kane because he's the opposite.

My dream scenario has the Flames beating the ng's each came for the rest of the year, with the only productive ng player in those games being Kane. Holland will literally ask the bank for bags of cash with the little dollar sign on the sign so he can hand deliver them to Kane.
an 8x8 for EK with the oilers full NMC would be the best timeline.
Silver medal timeline: The Conna mistakes EK for an uber eats driver and tries
to tip him while everyone gets impatient waiting for Patrick Kane to show up to the dressing room.

Because (this is my opinion) he is a misunderstood, black athlete who's portrayal by a heavily white media has built the reputation that many people in the public hold. That portrayal is one sided and unfair.
+ His ex-wife is a psycho as described by his timeline that she made false accusations (proven false) specifically on his birthday, his dad's birthday or on first day of training camp.
+ he has sole custody of his daughter. if he was such a bad human being, why does the court hand him sole custody? They have to keep the child's best interest at heart.

This thread reads like the CHED post game call in show after an Oilers loss.
If big, bad Evander Kane is going to ruin the Oilers shouldn't CP be encouraging this kind of behavior instead of criticizing the GM?

It really says something that he went to Edmonton. It says they were his only option. 31 other GM's knew this guy had burned all the second chances he deserves. Except the desperate Oilers.
Didn't know it was possible to think any less of that organization...but alas, here we are.

I like this deal if I am edmonton. Things already arent going well. They are committed to winning now. Worst case is they stay bad, beat case is he helps move the needle.
That said, as a Flames fan, I love this.

Oh Kenny....Kenny Boy....
How do you say 'Yes' to a full NMC? The man literally had no leverage and was desperate?

This is different. It would be a bad look for any team, oilers or otherwise.
To jump on him the moment he got out of the league penalty box shows that the Oilers and any other team talking to him haven't a shred of integrity.
Kane deserves to sit and rot for months. Oilers did themselves dirty and now, yup you bet we hope they pay for it with a locker room meltdown.
Realistically I actually didn't think they'd jump on Kane, let alone this quickly.
Just pure stupidity from top to bottom. They deserve all that comes their way and I won't sympathize with them when that shoe drops.

I'm not sure I agree with exactly how you phrased this, but I do think the "Kane is a garbage human being" stuff is largely based on the accusations from his ex. And, so far, it has been proven to be largely false. The sole custody deal is true and should be noted. A judge also granted a restraining order against his ex in favour of Kane.
Kane has been disliked by his team mates - check
Kane did get financial trouble - check
Kane did get suspended for 21 games for breach of protocol - check
He's probably a jerk, but the "garbage human being" description, if based on his ex's accusations, is unfair considering the court findings to date.
If people are calling him garbage for signing with the Oilers, that's fair.

He didn't go to Edmonton because he was desperate. He went to Edmonton to play with Connor McDavid and maximize his chance of getting the best contract he could after this season is over. It's a shrewd move. He might only end up playing in Edmonton for 3-4 months.
