Funny I checked out the box score from the 10-1 win and was miffed that he didn't get a single point :O)

No surprise as Darryl was fuming last night. I fully expect that Valimaki will take Zadorov's place tomorrow night. Hopefully he can take the ball and run with it.

My thoughts too, if Valimaki can come in and be better than Zadorov that would be a huge add for the team. Ball is in the kids court I'd say.

I definitely don't hate Zadorov's game like a lot of people on here do and see both the good and the bad, but if Valimaki can come back and play like he did in the Colorado series before he got hurt it would be very welcomed.

His game is built for the playoffs where they don’t call every little push a penalty on him and Gudbranson.

His recall was announced before the game, so this isn't a response to their performance last night.

He's not terrible and he's not even taken as many penalties as I imagined he would. That one he took last night was ill timed though. I just think there's a reason he's on his 3rd team in 3 years and he's not a guy that you have to keep in your lineup every night. Ideally he would be the player in the press box that comes in every once in a while when Valimaki has a stinker.

Is Mackey not eligible for waivers? Surprised they didn't call him up

Kylington could just as easily sit if we are basing it on last night alone
seems like Vali was just sent for this trip since the team was also out west like many of us thought.

When Sutter talked about him getting sent down though he was pretty adamant that it’s better for him to get playing time in so I am a little surprised to see the recall happen so soon based on that. After seeing Zad looking lost in the 2nd though I wouldn’t mind seeing Vali draw in for more than just a game to see what we get out of him now and that’s not me taking a shot at Zadorov who I think has been pretty good and close to as advertised.

No, but being put into the lineup for next game would be a response to the defense's performance last night.

Zadorov made a couple of mistakes, So did Gubranson, Hanifan, Kylington, and Tanev. Man Tanev, has actually been horrible for the past few games. I can't believe Sutter puts him out there on the OT 3-on-3!

I've also felt Tanev has been struggling somewhat and have been wondering whether he is nursing an injury.

Tanev is a natural choice if your goal in OT is to force a shootout. Since the Flames this year have been awful 3-on-3 and pretty good in shootouts, that strikes me as a rational decision.

My face is a bum!

Is it not logical that Valimaki was just sent down while they are in the neighbourhood? Maybe the plan for him is to see intermittent duty while practicing at NHL speed and the road trip was just a good geographical opportunity to get him some games along the way?

After a Daryl Sutter team allows even 4 goals, and it was due to the whole defence being substandard, he probably has nightmares and wakes up in cold sweats for at least a week.

Close. He is the nightmare, and his players wake up in cold sweats… if they ever sleep at all.
