Actually though, I’m super in to this now
Lucic
Zadorov
Valimaki
Pelletier
22/23/24/25 firsts (22 and 23 lottery protected, if Flames win lottery then Buf gets that year’s second plus the next year’s second)
For
Eichel
22/23/24/25 7ths (need to keep pick total)
Do it do it do it
Would prefer to give up the 26 first instead of valimaki if Buffalo would be cool with that

Amusing to see the exact opposite of the complaint so many posters have about the Flames.

Someone nobody ever talks about but perhaps could help Buffalo, Backlund. If they want a responsible two way player, why not him?

Why would Buffalo want Lucic and why would Lucic waive his NMC to go there?

Only reason Buffalo would want Lucic is that they have to take back salary to stay above the cap floor, and by the time they need the cap room for other purposes, his contract will be done.
Why Lucic would waive, you've got me there.

Waive and retire? Wasn't he ready to retire 2 seasons ago midseason.

I am probably in a huge minority here… but is anyone else worried about giving up a crapload of assets for an injured player and a risk of chemistry which may not work well here?

You are absolutely not in the minority. I mean you're probably not in the majority either, but for sure not in the minority. Or even in the middle. Does that help at all?

Because he’s not in their window. He’s barely in our window. I love the guy but he’s probably only this player for 2-3 more years at best.

Yup.
Had you asked this before the season I'm sure many people wouldn't have cared about chemistry. Now? There is concern but it's worth it.

I'm in the same boat. 50m gamble and the loss of some great assets.
I dont want Eichel but it feels like it's destiny at this point that it's going to happen.
I want Vegas to get him, I want them to live in their cap hell for doing so.

I’m 92% sure our current team is not a cup contender.
I say go for it. Take the chance. It’s only sports. It’s supposed to be fun.

It really depends on what the deal is. There are ways this can work without upsetting the chemistry too much (ie Monahan and high value futures). But I do worry about losing our best players best friend. But we also gain a new best player and hopefully a new best friend!
It’s unfortunate that Monny has made himself expendable (his injury scenario obviously a factor). IMO, he has all the tools to be just as good as an Eichel, but it hasn’t worked.
If you start digging into The Mangis and the Tkachuks, and the Kylingtons/Hanafins I start to get a little worried. Because it defeats the purpose of adding Eichel now.
This is all notwithstanding his injury/recovery. So yeah I’m a little worried. But also would be excited to see the outcome, and that’s what sports is about. If nothing else, it’ll be entertaining.
