I read a tweet that said the last time that happened was 1966

O'Connor to start for the Stamps on Friday. That's going to make it tough for the Stamps to go 1-2 but really he can't be a lot worse than an injured Bo has been this season.

I think it's important to state that O'Connor could start on Friday. After the shenanigans the Lions have pulled the last two weeks, it's tough to believe any of these reports especially when they are a few days out from game day.

I don't think Huff and Dave roll that way.

Oh, I'm not insinuating that they do - All I'm saying is that the position chart usually indicates who will start and who will be the backup and I think we should wait for that chart (it should be released Thursday morning) before jumping to any conclusions. The Lions had Rourke listed as the starter versus the Stamps and then when questioned about it said that Reilly was a game time decision. As you said EE, I think Huff and DD will decide via the position chart who the starter will be Friday night.

Nope. I said all home games. Esks started 1-1 that season and the Stamps were 0-2 with one home game.

It's pretty rare for the Stamps to start with 2 games at home because they never play at home during Stampede week (or at least they haven't for as long as I can remember) and the first couple of weeks of the season often overlap with the Stampede.

BTW I find that an odd move that they never play at home during stampede. You'd think it would be an amazing opportunity for them to coordinate with the Stampede to attract fans from all over. You could give ticket discounts for Stampede pass holders or Stampede discounts for Stamps ticket holders. It seems like a match made in heaven.

I get they'd be worried about competition and cannibalizing each other but I think it is the opposite.

Typical short sightedness we see all the time. Reminds me of when they thought showing games on TV would hurt gate receipts. Instead all it did was drive away fans to sports they could actually watch. Sometimes eyeballs on your product is worth some short term loss of revenue opportunities.

It never occurred to me that the Stampeders never played on Stampede week. But yeah, I agree they could create some good synergy with visitors from out of town, especially where professional football (or even professional sports) is not available.

Don't the Stamps play on the road during Stampede because they lease out the parking lot at McMahon for RV parking? Or am I confused?

You're bang on. The parking lot is usually full of RV's, mostly from the States.

Would explain a lot in terms of his pocket uncertainty and his mechanics.

Well if it was going to happen any season may as well been this shortened one where they have the worst roster since Huff took over. They can now use the rest of the season to evaluate what players they want to move forward with but Huff is probably going to have to hit free agency in the offseason to supply Bo with more talent to work with.

That's pretty lame. They could still hold a game. They could also not rent that space and take advantage of the out of towners going to the football game.
