Is that a fact how it’s done though? Over the past couple seasons there has to have been multiple conversations around the goalie situation. So if the agent is trying to drum up sympathy, I’m not buying it. Maybe the Chicago aspect is surprising to them but the fact that one of them was getting dealt was more or less fact so it couldn’t have been that shocking. Anyway, I don’t know all the facts here and don’t care to because it’s a non-issue for me. Marc Andre is a good guy and all but I find it incredibly hard to believe the organization won’t call him up. Just a miscommunication as far as I’m concerned.

Anyone who thinks players should give hometown discounts or that players shouldn't use whatever loopholes available to maximize their earnings needs to look at this situation. The guy won the Vezina literally a month ago and he's being discarded like a piece of trash with a year to go on his contract.

i'd be stunned if LV did not call MAF to give him some kind of heads up on the trade.
will be interesting to see if MAF retires or what?

He is obviously pissed right now. But there is no way he walks away from $7M, IMO.
Worst case scenario is Chicago agrees to try and trade him to a list of teams of his choice.

When Allan Walsh is your agent, maybe the team doesn't feel as comfortable sharing as many details. He doesn't seem like the kind of agent you want to be nice with.

Completely true. Wasn’t he proactively talking out of line over the past couple seasons on behalf of players? Good chance if he doesn’t like the deal he get on the line to Chicago to threaten retirement. No organization is completely arrogant to their players. But again, easy for us fans to sit on the high horse and say they’re a classless organization. Didn’t add up.

It’s said that he found out about being traded through Twitter (which admittedly the accuracy of I suppose we’ll never know).
If they had called him or his agent first he probably wouldn’t have found out on a social media site that is used most commonly through cell phones. Not a good look for Vegas IMO.

It's $6M salary owed this year...doubt he walks away but who knows. Not a 35+ contract as he was 34 when it kicked in.
There might be a $1M recapture penalty for LVK if he did retire though?

Article in the Athletic says Foley blocked a trade for Fleury to Pittsburgh last season, and basically that if he can't play in Vegas, he would love to go back there.

Yeah, Lehner hasn't looked good for a while. Knights will regret this. Are they the same team without MAF backstopping them?

Hey, this is just the trade list Jarome Iginla sent to the Flames, but with his name crossed out and "Marc-Andre Fleury" written over top.

McCrimmon, in his presser, admitted that the rumours of the trade had leaked out before he could get in touch with Fleury.

Someone reported that MAF has no interest in relocating to CHI. This trade is one that I can't understand. Why did Chicago do this trade? Are they just doing Vegas a favour?

I think we need to see this play out.
I doubt Fleury sits out when Kane and Toews comes a callin'. With a chance to stick it to Vegas in the playoffs perhaps.
Fleury knew Vegas was trying to move him, they were trying last year also.

It's like Chicago is desperate to make hockey news to distract from other issues involving their team. Their decisions this Summer have not made any sense.

The Hawks are trying to make one more run with the Kane-Toews duo. It’s pretty desperate, and they likely won’t manage to be more than first-round fodder. But I can kinda see why they’re taking a shot.
