I wasn’t planning on attending but the local branch for the company I work for is hitting the rodeo tomorrow so I might tag along. My wife’s work is also having a party on Saturday down at Craft so I am planning on attending that as well

Living out in NW Calgary... you wouldn't even know that there's a Stampede event occurring. Virtually no evidence of it anywhere.

Just another benefit of working from home.

we usually go every year to hit up the chucks and grandstand show. Even my favourite artist for over 20 years is playing the grandstand show, it's still not enough to entice me to go down this year. I'm missing the fireworks, but not enough to change my mind.

Walking home from work around 5 PM, I saw a couple fighting outside of Last Best. Ugly crying, yelling, and a few pushes from the lady to the man.

Based on the attire, it looked to be Stampede induced. Otherwise I'd just chalk it up to a normal Tuesday in the Beltline.

Any suggestions of where my son should sit for the rodeo? Is it better to be lower in the 100's or farther up in the 200's??

How pale is he, lower sits in the sun all day, depending on the heat it can be nice to have some shade.

He's not pale at all. Olive skin but sitting in the sun all afternoon would be a problem for most I would think.

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll move him up as long as he will be able to see everything ok.

Went down last night. Seemed nice and spaced out, lots of people but far from overcrowded. Hit up the kiddie rides, ate a corn dog.

Lack of beer gardens this year besides Duttons and the patio by the old coke stage.

Felt good to be out there tbh

Between free tickets for front-line workers (and 3 friends), free tickets for grads, and now free tickets for everyone, anyone who actually paid for admission got ripped off!!

Went down to Nashville north tonight to see a fantastic Canadian country band (washboard union).

I’m not totally surprised that the stampede still doesn’t know how to run a tent but I couldn’t believe how much ####tier it was in all facets compared to Knoxville’s tent that I went to a concert to a week ago.

Today is free admission day but with this smoke, somehow I don't feel like being outside is a good idea.

I dont even want to be outside in my backyard in this let alone in a parking lot with thousands of other people.

Stampeding is not my bag, fair enough, some people love it and families enjoy it and its a wonderful tradition for our City, and I respect that.

And I feel for the Stampede Board to a degree...they've just been waterboarded with bad luck for a couple years.

To get this crap on the Free Admission Day, the Finale to a Post-COVID (relatively) Stampede....its like a Deity feels slighted.

I caved and put on a mask and went into the grounds today. That wasn't bad. I wish there was a free day every year because I don't really want to partake in anything except check out the food and grab something unique.

The Stampede Board has released 'rough' numbers, saying they had about half their usual guests, and welcomed "about 50,000/day".

Wine Gardens are my new favorite part of stampede.

Spaced out, clean, quiet.

Beats the hell out of Hormoneville North with a crowd of 19 year olds.
