Watching Vegas vs Colorado right now and holy ####.
Makes the Flames look like an AHL team.
They’re faster, more physical, more skilled.
Who cares the flames didn’t make it in, no way they win anything anyway.

Can we pretty please with a cherry on top just lose properly for a change and get a decent pick?
I know it's a crapshoot more than normal with the draft but am not looking forward to "could have had 5th OA which won the lottery, but instead picked 10th" crap

Yeah LOL. I don’t know why so many people on here get so hyped about even a 1% chance we’d make it in. We’d get aas slapped backwards in round 1. I’ve been hoping we’d keep losing to at least secure a better draft pick, but the Flames even find ways to mess that up lol. We’re a mediocre team, always have been and always will be unless if we take a massive chance and go all in on a franchise center in Eichel who is in his prime, something we’ve essentially never had.
The Young Guns weren’t disappointing. They were playing in an unfair league structure, and the players had heart. Expectations were low.
The late Iggy years were highly disappointing, but to me this season is the worst. The apparent lack of heart on the ice and the tactical decision making were just abysmal to watch.
I agree, worst season I can remember.
Can't blame the league salary structure, can't blame injuries, can't blame player holdouts, can't even blame being in a strong division.
Just a complete fold job with no excuses.

Exactly. Who cares about the lack of scouting at this point, just need to secure the highest draft pick possible...then package it in for Eichel 😈
I think he should be let go, but I don’t think it will happen. My gut tells me that ownership probably told Sutter that he will have a lot of input on the team going forward. Considering the core needs a big time shakeup , bringing in a new gm now would probably dissolve that from happening straight away.
I’ll be absolutely shocked if Treliving stays. A shakeup is needed so why trust him to fix the mess that he himself made?
Treliving seems extremely smart. Everything he says seems to come down to well rationalized thought. No one seems to have the magical formula to create a compete style team with all the balances required to win the cup.
It's time for a new GM and a new direction. The direction to date has been steps back no matter how things are rationalized. Perhaps, some of the great GM's know it's always retooling, have great scouting, whatever, the Krakens have more hope then the Flames next season.

I have been worried about this, seems we do this every time when we have had the opportunity to try and get better players. I don't understand it! Those later picks might give us something, but we could use a little more. We went for it with a team that has been very inconsistent, would have been a good time to lose a few games and get us something of long term value.
So all we have left is four games against the Canucks, two teams that are terrible with nothing left to play for.
Who fracking cares. The Flames and Canucks should get on the phone, agree with a what's the point, lets save hockey fans from watching this and call em.
I have little to no interest in the rest of the season.

I always thought if your season was a write off and it's a "weak" draft , that the highest picks are most important. Not equaled out to the rest of the lower picks.
Having a pick of the litter vs picking what's left seems massively advantageous to me.

Well, if Sutter was honest a couple of days ago, Louis Domingue gets all 4 games against the nucks. So that's a tanking move.
Had we shown any glimpse of a spark this year from Dube, EatBread, or our younger current core produced, then yes Eichel is a target.
Among the 274 forwards with 500 minutes 5v5 TOI this season, Andrew Mangiapane ranks:
33rd in on-ice xGF% (57.41%)
73rd in goals/60 minutes
93rd in pts/60 minutes
He's pretty much been a first liner despite getting some of the worst usage on this team: constantly being stapled to our least productive and least engaged middle sixers.
