Hell, offensively he's still leading the D in goals and assists.

Stickwork is what kept Nik Lidstrom around longer than he should have as well.

I wonder if they decide to do a play-in if the point percentage gets closed in, and Canucks decide not to finish off their season.

I wouldn’t protect him either but it doesn’t mean he’s done. I also wouldn’t protect Lucic voluntarily and he ain’t done.

Nonetheless, they are starting to look like the team many of us thought they were going to be at the start of the season.

I think for once a week of practice helped the team.

Most of their breaks in the past have come way too early in the season.

The only fair thing to do if the Canucks cannot finish the season is not count any of the games against the Canucks and just go on win percentage without those games.

Just wait until we get a full training camp and preseason. I think this team has what it takes to go far in the playoffs, just not this year (assuming we don’t make it). I’d love it if we did though!

Good season, tbf.
Lost in the over arching story of disappointment.
The fact that he's continued his play away from Tanev solidifies that.

There was no time to implement a meaningful transition before that, let alone catch their breath.

You mean it's the anti-ASG and week long break that ruined the Flames 2nd overall in the standings season?

Also the anti-early season break this year. The Flames had a decent start and it just got killed.

What I see lately is Gio making those quick ups like we've seen in past years. He was getting better but now the Tanev pairing has really elevated his game again.
Gio, Tanev and Hanifin have all been making incredible plays showing incredible ability.
