I must have low expectations, but overall, I was fine with how the Flames played today.

Those would be our only first overall picks until 2027 then so hopefully they work out.

Going “Full Oiler” is trading two 2nd round picks for Andreas Athanasiou and then not even qualifying him.

Going “Full Oiler” is signing Kris Russell to a 4 year, $16M contract.

Going “Full Oiler” is trading a 1st and a 2nd (16th and 33rd overall) for Griffin Reinhart.

Going “Full Oiler” is signing Zack Kassian to a 4 year, $12.8M contract.

Going “Full Oiler” is trading Taylor Hall “1 for 1” for Adam Larsson

The best teams in the league were built through the draft. The Oilers are the Oilers, and the Flames are the Flames because of the garbage crap they/we do away from the draft.

Like trading a 1st and two 2nd round picks for Travis Hamonic, or trading a 2nd round pick for Brian Elliott, or signing Troy Brouwer, or signing James Neal, or signing three head coaches back-to-back-to-back that are not NHL quality coaches.

He’s about on pace since the last 2-3 years. You get 1/8 periods of effort from Gaudreau.

Your expectations are insanely low.

Calgary’s top scorer is 40th in points in the NHL. Only 1 player, the epitome of the laziest of all stars, has more than 10 goals.

The Flames played tonight the way they have all season.

They don’t give a ####.

I forgot about the game.

Won't be the last time this season I suspect.

I can live with the fate of this year if it ensures meaningful changes, just need the hockey gods to ensure that the Oilers crash and burn like they're supposed to.

Monahan -> trade him for a solid prospect, hopefully before April 12th to maximize draft position in 2021.
Backlund -> do what you can to get rid of his contract

2021/2022 --> Bottom-5 team, and take your shot at drafting Shane Wright.

Giordano's contract is then off the books. Lucic likely retires/stops playing after next season. Buyouts are all off the books. Clean slate, and we've got a top coach already in place alongside what I believe is still a top-end goalie. Pretty good position in my eyes.

...but can't imagine Treliving will go that way.
I was thinking more like fire Gio into the sun as soon as the last nail is in the coffin of this season.

Then trade Ryan for a third rounder at the deadline and sign him in the offseason and make him captain because he’s the only one that seems to give a f#ck.

Yay!
Not only that, it would count as one of the two lotteries we're allowed to win every 5 years.

It's absolutely going to happen.

I don't think that starts until next year's draft.

Other than Tanev and Lucic I wouldn’t mind every player being replaced.

Said I didn’t care but watched the game to the end..
Classic ‘too little too late’ flames.
Seems like the jets are more a Sutter team than the flames. Is anybody on that roster under 6 feet? Good lord.
If chucky didn’t do the Mcdavid level dive there at the end he might actually get one of the seven cross checks he took called on the jets. Lowry had a field day there.

Also, somebody needs to feed Pionk his teeth in this series. Sooo tough. Huge run on gaudreau. What a tough guy. Then cross checks lucic and takes a gloved pop from lucic (not an easy punch) but the p***y has the time to grab his face as he goes down. Such a dive.
Don’t need lucic to feed him his teeth. Bennett?

I turned the game on while waiting for a pitching change in the Jays game and this was the first and only thing I saw of the game.

Changed the channel back instantly and sat through the commercials instead.

I would rather watch commercials than Flames hockey.
