I think most people felt that he was brought in to identify the roster problems. It's just very difficult to pinpoint those at the moment.

Team sucks and the good thing is now it’s clear even Darryl Sutter can’t turn the suck around with this group.

Sell what you can at the deadline and then do an overhaul in the summer. Treliving should probably lose his job too in the end this is the team he built.

Overall the overreaction to the loss to colorado and the failure to land Kadri or a top 6 forward is what killed this team.

I still would have liked to see this team with Sutter from the hop this season, or even better if they would have had Boudreau who would have opened it up a bit more, but either way this is a flawed team with a core that just isn’t good enough and at least we have that clarity now and can retool this roster with pieces that fit what Sutter wants to do.

I need some popcorn. Nowhere overreacts like CP does. Its entertaining and sad all at once.

Yeah...there are a few changes needed but let's be rational here.

Thought the Monahan line with Dube looked good. Aside from that I have nothing good to say.

The good thing was that I was only sort of paying attention because I'm working from home. The game flew by and I wasn't too invested.

I'm honestly stunned, I though today was going to be a sure win!

This is on the players, not the GM or coach. Feel bad for Brad Treliving actually.
Owners must be pissed spending to the cap and seeing this.

Time to play some farm team guys and see what is down there. Nothing left to lose. I won't be the least bit sad to see this core and leadership group gutted. Good riddance.

I'm really hoping Brad is fired before we get to the offseason.

Unfortunately this team's history would suggest that if they do move on from Treliving, it'll be way too late and nothing will get done because the new guy is still "assessing what he has."

We'll pin all our hopes on the shiny new pick in a weak-ass draft, rinse and repeat.

As an aside, it was pretty hilarious seeing Zaitsev casually snipe the empty net from as far away as possible.

The Flames can only dream of scoring into the empty net this year, let alone from distance.

It was obvious for a long time the players were the problem, not the coach, not the system.

Treliving missed out by not changing things up 2 years ago or so. He's got no choice now. They are one of the worst teams in the league. No point in holding back on major trades and hoping things just magically fix themselves under Sutter. Just a rotten team right now.

So is this Sutter bringing in the tight defensive game and the roster is out of sorts? Not getting it? I'd call it growing pains, except they aren't growing, it is just a trainwreck.

A guy like Jonny frustrated because his offensive instincts are being stifled? Not into playing tight defensive hockey?

I'm with Sutter all the way, ship out the guys that can't work in the system.
Is trying to make this team a tight defensive team trying to make a horse out of a mule?

Gio just said in post game presser 'we're not a high scoring team'- Sutter's words. Team didn't have any problems scoring goals in the Peters area.
If we're going to be a tight checking defensive team we need personnel changes.

In fairness, the Sens can take chances like that because they actually win face-offs.

Buy in, effort. However, they thought they were hot s*** going out of the all-star break that year because they were just so good, and I think got complacent. Haven't seen that collective effort for more than a game here and there since. Now Gio is old, almost no-one has confidence nor care, the leadership group is divided and broken and you're left with the crap we're seeing this year. The mixture of tuning out coaches in addition to most of the coaches not being good enough in the first place was another major issue.
