Oh well. At least we have closure. No playoffs this year. But please, for the love of god no more trading away futures to try and improve the team now. And no more signing free agents to massive 5+ year contracts. This team is NOT a player or two away from contending.

This team continues to have zero heart. I haven’t cared less about a Flames team since the team moved to Calgary and that includes the Young Guns era.
Most of this team is garbage and has no confidence at all. It will take Sutter a long time to fix this and at least 50% of the roster needs to go.

This is true. Except that last goal was terrible defence by everyone on the ice. Gio, Johnny, Rasmus, and somehow either Monahan got off late or Lindholm was late to the party.

For sure. Other than the two dumb mistakes that ended up behind Markstrom, they weren't bad at limiting chances

I’d honestly would kick the tires with Ottawa to see what they would be willing to part with for Tkachuk. I don’t get why he would be untouchable, all year he’s been lazy and slow and has made terrible and selfish decisions with the puck. He’s a showboater all too often and I wouldn’t mind seeing him dealt because I do think he yields the highest return. I’d also reach out to Toronto to see if they had interest in reuniting Marner/Tkachuk and how far they’d be willing to go. Because of the way things are set up this year and the higher than normal odds for any Canadian team that makes it into the playoffs I could see a team like Toronto paying an absurd amount for a player like Tkachuk. Haha we could even offer up a Rittich/Tkachuk package that would make Toronto salivate.
